Billie's paw

Are things still going well with Billie’s paw?
At the moment it's looking pretty promising. We have still got a long way ahead of us, but it is looking better.
If Billie doesn't start taking the bandage off again, maybe ...

But for now I'm just relieved that the antibiotics in combination with the soaks and the bandage plus Bepanthen cream seems to be working.

It’s nice when you see progress after all the hard work.
Hopefully now that the paw is improving the healing will speed up.
Yes, I really hope so.
In May I have to go away on business for 2 days. It would be great if the paw would be good enough not to need 2 baths a day every day any more by then.

Billie has got an appointment with the specialist vet on March 11th. I hope he will be impressed by our progress.

Unfortunately I heard today, that I have to go away on business for 3 days in the last week of April. To say that I'm not happy about it, is an understatement. :(

Good to hear things are moving in the right direction. Could Billie not join you as your furry assistant on your work trip?

Glad you have a referral to a specialist.
Hopefully that might offer some positive help.
Work can be a pain when it gets in the way of caring for the piggies.
However - it does pay the vet bills!

That's the same vet we saw at the beginning of January. I don't expect new ideas about the treatment, but it's good that this vet takes another look at Billie.
And I'll probably be able to be present while Billie is examined. My usual vet still doesn't allow anyone further than the waiting room.

Since Billie started to put more effort into getting rid of the bandage again, I have increased the daily metacam.
Seems to work for the moment. I really don't want her to take off her bandage in the near future, because I'm afraid that this would us back to square one.

Dear Billie

We held an Emergency Committee Meeting tonight here at GPU Headquarters to wheak about (discuss) your situation about your paw and how your Slave has been treating you, having been alerted by our Shop Steward The One and Only Thea.

We know that you have been so good at letting your Slave treat your poorly paw with daily foot spas and bandages. We're sure that it won't take much longer and your paw will be back to normal. Bumblefoot is a very painful condition and whilst we are sympathetic, and we would hate the treatment you've been going through (especially the bandaged foot part - horrible!) it is much better than the bumblefoot. So please try and keep the bandage on your foot for a little bit longer. You have our full backing because you are such a good girl. Don't ever think that you don't.

Yours sending healing paw vibes your way.

The Committee of the GPU

Dear Committee of the GPU,
thank you for your letter. I'm really touched by your words of concern.
I'm trying to be a good girl most of the time, but this bandage really sucks. Can't even clean my face in the right way.

I got mummy slave to do a few selfies from our morning routine. Please excuse the poor quality. Mummy slave is pretty useless when it comes to selfies.

Wheeks Billie

During the night Billie decided to get rid of her bandage. :(
The paw didn't look bad in the morning, but when I came home in the early afternoon, the bandage was off again.

Poor girl, she must be really fed up of her foot feeling funny. She doesn't understand why you keep putting the bandage back on. She only knows that she doesn't want it on there anymore.

She’s so cute.
It is hard when we know they need the treatment but it’s not very nice.
Unfortunately tough love isn't nice. I'm having to be very firm so Betsy takes her Sulfatrim and Metaclopramide. The Sulfatrim went in OK tonight but most of the Metaclopramide came dribbling out. She was NOT having that tonight!
