What made you happy today?

Actually got out the house to start the nursery run at 8:30 today, giving me some hope my 3 year old has the ability to get up and get ready without it being a full on mission. Meant I got to spend more time at the local baby group this morning and it was busy so good to meet some local mum's with babies around the same age and have actual adult conversation

lol I'm on hold with E.on at the minute and for once, it's actually useful? They changed my meters back in March because I wanted smart meters (what with the cellar being a deathtrap) but while the electric meter got updated something went odd with the gas one so it wasn't treated as a brand new meter, rather as if it was the old meter that had rolled over back to all zeros. And despite repeatedly being asked to do the smart part of the smart meters, well, here we are. So when it was time to renew my tariff, I just...didn't? Not that it's recommended but I dunno what else they wanted me to do, I'm not paying for gas I didn't use and I'm not going down there unless absolutely necessary, like a power cut. Taking a photo of the gas meter is not an emergency.

So. On the phone. Asked the guy what he wanted me to do, that it was their problem they didn't update the gas meter details and that's why I hadn't paid and I wanted the smart meter stuff done. I'm on hold because he's apparently speaking with the engineering teams because of the first and third bits. As for the second...apparently the account's in credit. I don't know how the account's in credit. But hey. Now it's all their problem.

My daughter exchanged contracts today for her house purchase. There’s been one thing after another with this purchase so she was starting to feel it was never going to happen. She moves out on Monday. I’m so happy for her.

I know that feeling. When we moved down here nearly 4 years ago, we were supposed to move at the end of June and it ended up being mid October!

Congratulations to your daughter in very nearly moving house.

It’s taken them 6 months and their mortgage offer runs out next Friday! So they’ve only just made it. Phew.

Hope all goes well with the move and your daughter is very happy in her new home

Went to the gym today for the first time in 3 weeks. I struggled a bit with Legs, Bums and Tums but not too badly although I could tell I'd had such a long time off. This afternoon my OH and I went on an 8 mile bike ride. I'm a bit tired now!
Well done you 🥰 you’re an inspiration @Betsy

My new iron arrives on Saturday a week earlier than the original delivery date. My old iron doesn't steam anymore, you can hear the pump going but no steam arrives at the iron. I ordered it from Amazon as it was 40% off the price in Curry's. I reckoned that I would rather spray water over my ironing and use a hot iron for 2 weeks than pay the extra and get a new iron straight away. So far I have managed to avoid the ironing this week and I was going to start tackling the overflowing ironing basket tomorrow. Now I have a good excuse not to!

Got most of my plant pots sorted for winter, I'm going to get some winter pansies or something to try I think. Repotted my spider plant (is now looking a bit sad but hopefully in a few days will perk up). Done loads of little things on my to do list. Rested my foot, it's feeling so so today.
