Salisbury Meet - 13 January 2024

I am still hoping to join you on Saturday. However, our lovely boar Milo is not well and we are waiting for the results of a biopsy and skin scrape. Sadly, our vet thinks he may have skin cancer but until we know for sure we don't know what the treatment will be. If it is cancer and non-aggressive it is likely that surgery will be needed to remove it as soon as possible. So i am leaving booking my train ticket until later in the week when we will hopefully know more. We also had Rosie at the vets the following day with a seed stuck in her eye. She is recovering well but will need eye drops for 14 days. Not a great start to the new year.

Sorry for your news Yvonne. Hope the skin cancer is treatable.

I will still be joining you on Saturday. However, sadly Milo has a confirmed melanoma on his back. We have an appointment Wednesday next week to see if it might be possible to remove it. This will depend on being able to get enough margin around the cancer and still close the skin. 😢 I am told this type of cancer is extremely rare in guinea pigs, our vet has never seen it before.

Looks like it's going to be about 4'c - 5'c in Salisbury on Saturday.
If you're a chilly mortal, it might be best to take warm clothes, we were sat right next to a heater in the pub last time & it was ffffffffffffreeezing!
❄️☃️
The heater was as much use as an arctic breeze! 🌬🥶
But hey I'm a southern 'softy' but just to warn you all :tu:
Xx

Thanks for the heads up. I hate being cold. But then I hate being hot too. Lots of layers I think.

I remember that! It was just so cold in there and the place was so full we only just managed to find a table. My train gets in at 11.39 so I'll have a quick look around to see if anyone is there and then bag a table.

If anyone gets there before me, we have to sit downstairs as Angie @teddymouse is disabled and can't do stairs and we try to get as large a table as possible. Please bring a toy guinea pig and put it on the table so that you can be identified in case you haven't been to a Meet before. I'll be bringing several with me. I'll also be wearing my new top.

Guinea pig tops are encouraged but not compulsory. See you all there folks!

I love that sweater, Unfortunately I only have guinea pig t shirts so it's definitely a jumper I'll be wearing!
