Jam jars may be quite expensive, but I don't think I can quite justify the cost of the train ticket (or petrol) for a handful of them
If you can, save them for the next Birmingham meet - whenever that might be - and have a little jaunt up this way in your caravan again.
I'm afraid I didn't make any greengage or plum jam at all this year. The greengage trees didn't produce much fruit in the end - I think they may be on their way out - and by the time I was no longer worrying about Squeaks, the bad weather had made most of the plums succumb to brown rot. I did make some gooseberry jam in June, but it didn't set very well
So not a good jam year - better luck in 2024
