Pepper & Pringles Thread

I am sorry. I hope the vet can shed some light on the reason for his weight loss and it's an easy fix. I'm glad you have a piggy experienced friend who will be able to syringe feed him if necessary.

Oh no. Hope he’s ok. Good job you’ve notice quickly. Good luck Tuesday 🤞🏻

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully the vet will get to the bottom of whatever it is.

Thanks everyone, he wolfed down two bowls of recovery food this evening and does seem to be eating hay, he seemed happy enough and my friends and she will weigh him daily hoping he won’t need any emergency visits to the vets!

We had our vet appointment this evening, pepper does appear to have some spurs on his teeth, she couldn’t see fully as he has food in his mouth but she could see something on one side, he chest sounded very clear so he is booked in for a dental exam and potential burring on Thursday under aesthetic gas, I asked do they do this often and it’s a weekly occurrence with pigs or rabbits having dentals in the practise so I’m very confident that he will be fine in their hands.

We have just picked pepper up from his dental, he has some small spurs forming in his back teeth so they have been filled down and they trimmed some of his other teeth, he started eating straight away at the vets so that’s a good sign, he is just not very happy with mummy as dinner is late and she left him and Pringle at the vets all day!

For those who may not have seen the updates on our illness thread Pepper isn’t doing to great at the moment, he stopped eating again on Thursday and has been syringe feeding ever since, last night he also started doing bright red wee’s off to the emergency vets we went and he is now in baytril to see if he improves, he has an X-ray and no stones we’re see thankfully!

I have just caught the boys snuggling together, Pringle has not stopped stuffing himself scooping up all the extras from peppers illness!
