Eriathwens piggies

hope Pumkin moves earlier with the gapapentin 🤞

I saw her jumping up onto a big pile of hay this morning! She's definitely feeling much better and only on a low dose, so there's a good amount of wiggle room, we can give her 4xs the dose she's currently on if we have to 😀

Dinner time for the pigs now, Bramble has almost polished off her porridge so was rather excited to see a lump of beetroot appear at her door..although she snatched it and turned her backside to me before I could get any pictures of her.

Treacle, Cinnamon and the herd stuck around for a little bit though!

Didn’t know piggies could eat beetroot.your pigs are very handsome

Well, Brambles weight gain is doing well, instead of in a bowl (because a certain black, shiny lump would steal it all!) she's getting 15ml morning and night via syringe. With Ebonys help licking to mixing spoon XD lots of tired bottoms, a before bed snack of pellets (which ended up on the floor because apparently the bowl was scary ) a sleepy Daisy..it's all going on tonight!

Wow, there are some lovely colours, here

So, this was a bit of a last minute thing but this little one joined us today. She doesn't have a name yet, we're thinking maybe Jasmine but undecided yet.
She is 6 months old and a biter, they decided they could not risk having her around their children any longer. She has been fine with me so far and even taken some kale from me. She's had a good check over and a feel of her belly as they've been allowing her to 'play' with their 2 males 🤦‍♀️
Shes quite thin but also rather round but I have pretty good luck avoiding pregnancies, and I can't feel any babies.

Anyway, here's the savage beast herself 🤣

She looks absolutely vicious. Poor sweetheart. Fingers crossed she's not pregnant but if she is she's in the right place with you.

Oh, she is gorgeous. Glad she has found a home with you. Maybe the biting was for a reason. Although our piggy Pol just liked to nip people for fun.

OK so today we learned that the nipping (I really wouldn't call it biting) comes from attempts to touch her little belly. Understandable. She has had quite a bit of water, and is certainly firm and round. Could she be pregnant? Yes, she may also be a little bloaty and sore as she has passed a few smaller poops amongst the normal ones. She is eating loads of hay, I didnt see what her cage was like as they had put her on a blanket on the sofa.. I suppose that speaks for itself if they didn't want me seeing the cage. So maybe she didn't have as much hay as she should have, or too many veggies, we will see. But for now I have no reason other than curiosity to touch her belly so I'll leave that alone and just let her be. It will become obvious in time if she's pregnant or not, I dont need to keep feeling 😅

As I had her out I did get her weight so I can also monitor her that way. At the moment she isnt alarmingly heavy although she's a little bony for being almost 800g but again.. we'll see.

Aw thankyou, shes such a lovely little thing. We have settled on the name Ivy for her, after trying out a few to see what suited.

I'm unsure what group I'll be adding her to yet, I'm thinking Finley, Tilly and Lily, but I'm a little concerned how well bonding will go between Tilly with her ovarian cysts and Ivy's hormones if she's pregnant, however Tilly is one of the very few girls I have who has already had babies and will know how to help..even if she is blind and elderly. Other than Fern I don't think anyone else has had babies or even been around anyone giving birth.

I've always had a soft spot for the fuzzy coated breeds, I rarely see them around here though, not that I would specifically choose any of my pigs on coat type alone when rescuing them 😅 but it's lovely to have another one! She's coming more and more out of her shell and making it very clear she would like to be with the others soon. I'm trying to weigh up the stress of intros vs the stress of being by herself although she is next to the others (I skipped quarantine in another room as I figured total isolation would definitely be too much for her)

Her round bum is as adorable as her chubby cheeks 🤣
