Hope she can start eating again soon without difficulty.
 
I hope Ebony is back to eating more easily soon.

It's so worrying about the situation with conscious piggy dentals. I don't have a dental piggy but I know that your lethals and the TEAS piggies rely on them. It would be heartbreaking if they had to be PTS because a decision was made by a group of people who have never even seen the procedure.😭
 
All 3 did really well, some behaved less well than others (looking at you, Forrest!) But all 3 are back and eating. Ebony is on grass, shredded veggies and the pieces of hay she decides she can eat, the selection process known only to her 🤣
He also noted her feet were looking much better, I'm to keep using the flamazine until the pad is all the same colour and the scabs completely gone, and then swap to bio oil, but they're noticeably softer. She has also gained 50g since her last appointment. So very happy with them all round.

I made Mabel an appointment as a follow up to her digestive issues plus I've been managing a cyst on Baileys ankle for a while but it's not really resolving so she has an appointment too. I was worried that Tilly had lost weight but she was the same weight as she was at her last appointment so I will hold off on her for now.

It really was. It's such a stress off my shoulders when they come back eating straight away. And compared to last night, Ebony is a different pig! I had to give her some emeprid as she was bloated and unhappy, wanting to just sit in the corner. Now she's up and about doing her thing, eating what she fancies and bloat free.
 
Ugh, my poor heart! I walked past Delilah to close the window and she didn't even twitch from her death nap, I was convinced she had died. Nope, just another one that enjoys scaring me!

On the plus side, it gave me the chance to appreciate just how shiny her coat is! She's almost 6, and apart from her cataracts starting, her arthritis, E.cuniculi, eye that likes to leak for an unknown reason and muscle atrophy around the back..shes looking in pretty decent nick really! I hope I look half as good when I'm of the more elderly disposition 😅

Tillys grey hairs are merging into grey patches, I thought she had a goopy eye for a moment but no, it's grey hair 😅 her little lips have also almost turned completely white! It's strange how Ebony isn't greying like Tilly, but then I don't think I've ever had any anypig go grey like this, looking back!

How come when men grow old they are described as "dignified" but when ladies grow old they are described as "an old bag"? Hmmmmm me thinks there is some discrimination going on there! I may be over 50 but I feel great I certainly don't feel like an old bag!

grey hair and few laughter lines say a life well lived and enjoyed to the full 😊
It is unfair that men get labelled distinguished though
 
I've been going grey since I was 16! At almost 34 I've got some pretty thick grey streaks and I really like them 🤣 but then I've never cared about what I'm "supposed to" like or look like 😅

I am guilty of being partial to distinguished older gentleman though! So maybe I just like grey hair 😳😅

You’d think it was winter! My Kiki was laid under the cuddle cup this afternoon 🙄 they are strange beasties

So, while my vet is on holiday we saw the exotics vet who said Silver was the best behaved guinea pig he's ever done dental work on 😁 I don't believe it for a second given how much of a little sod he is usually but he definitely behaved better than normal, his teeth are looking great and he's already eating.

Pumpkin also went as I'm concerned she's developing arthritis, her knees are a little crunchy and her right leg definitely isn't feeling wonderful but because of her dodgy kidneys I hadn't put her on metacam to see how she went, the vet has said to give her gabapentin for a couple of weeks to see how she reacts to it.
