Eriathwens piggies

Thankyou!

Ivy had made a mess of her cage so while she was out getting cleaned out, I figured I'd pop her on the scales and yup! Now over a kilo. She's so desperate for cuddles and attention it's so hard not to handle her. I cant wait until she's had the babies so we can have proper cuddles, all she wants to do is climb me 😅

Thanks so do I, I'm so nervous for her! She's already so over being pregnant. I've had Tilly out for a bit, gone back up and she's just pancaked out, I quite often see a pair of feet sticking out the hay but she's usually too fast for me to grab a picture. Makes me laugh every time though!

Yes I've been anxiously watching the weather forecasts about this increase in temperature that may be coming. Luckily the piggy room stays nice and cool usually but it's still something she could do without! I'm glad it's not like the heatwave we had last year right now.

Her face is just:wub:

I have my fingers crossed for a smooth, hassle free birth. You got this Ivy!

So having got my head around the crisis of both Poppet and Bailey having to have surgery just as Ivy is due to give birth, Tilly has gone and thrown me again. She's been occasionally mounting Finley on and off for a little while but last night she was relentless. Luckily he is taking it very well, just rumbling at her in return and running away, no aggression at all, but it can't be doing her any good having her hormones going crazy like that. I dont really know what to do with her, I dont know if an implant would work and I don't believe hormone injections would be in her best interest.. but she's 8 years old with multiple health problems, my vet and the specialist are incredible surgeons but even for them it may be a bit much to ask them to consider her for surgery. But then she's also not at the point her quality of life is impacted enough to warrant even considering euthanasia.

I suppose I will have to just make her an appointment and see what the vet thinks. Luckily as long as I throw food in she gets distracted 🤣 so lots of fresh 'treat' hays going in! Of course can't give one group treats without the others demanding some too 😅

Oh Tilly, you want to have all the fun don’t you! Hopefully you can work something out with your amazing vets.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm hoping it's just an issue when she comes into season, if she only does it 2 days out of the month we can probably live with it. But I'll still have her seen, just to be safe. There may be an option I've not thought of yet.

2 weeks between these pictures 🤦‍♀️ I still can't feel any defined lumps so she may not be as far along as I initially thought, which is..concerning, shes already quite large! I was hoping she wasn't going to get enormous.

😯 Fingers crossed she stops expanding soon! At least now she is with you she won't have to go through this again 💞

Tilly saw the vet yesterday and it seems one of her ovarian cysts is no longer there, I'm not sure if that would have been related to her behaviour but it is what it is. It's in her best interest to just monitor her as it seems she is only behaving this way when she comes into season. She also had her bladder expressed as she's been having some pain while peeing, if that fixes the issue he will show me how to do it for her at home as she seems to not be fully emptying it, which obviously puts her at risk of developing a stone if the sediment is allowed to stay in her bladder. If she's still painful when peeing we will stick her on a trial of gabapentin.

Panda had her new implant done today, in spite of the local aneasthetic she was given she was apparently still very vocal about the situation 😅 but otherwise a very good girl.

Aw brave little girl Panda. Hope Tilly’s bladder feels more comfortable now

She was brave bless her, all things considered.. she still sat and let them do it 🤣 I don't think I've ever told them her full name is Pandamonium! I doubt they'd be surprised at this point.

Tillys happily bimbling around at the moment, so fingers crossed! Luckily the bladder itself felt very healthy, no inflammation etc, so he's wondering if it's actually urethra pain/inflammation.

I think I've just found a tumour in Mabels chest, against her ribs 😔 I'm going to see if I can still feel it tomorrow and Thursday then make her an appointment, I'm in with Pippin Thursday afternoon so I can book it then.

She has always reminded me of Thistle, health wise, so this seems about right sadly as that's what ultimately took her. Fingers crossed its just fatty tissue or a blood vessel I was feeling though, and I can't find it again tomorrow.

Hope that Mabel is OK and the lump is something easily treatable.xx
