Betsy Ovarian Cysts?

Just heard back from the vet. Betsy has come round from her 2 hour spay. The ovaries were HUGE 7cms on both sides and very round :yikes::yikes::yikes:. No wonder the poor girl was uncomfortable and moody! She hasn't eaten anything as yet so that's the next hurdle to get over. Hopefully she will get over this operation and will be my Ever Beautiful Betsy once more.
 
Oh my goodness that is a huge size for ovaries! I bet she will be feeling so much better with those removed. Here's to a speedy and uneventful recovery for her so she's back to her old self in no time :)

I know, I couldn't believe it when they told me that they were THAT big. No wonder she screamed whenever I picked her up.
 
Glad the gorgeous Betsy is safely through her op and those scary big ovaries are gone, no wonder she was sore- so glad you trusted your instincts and got them to prioritise her spay as an emergency! All the PigglyPuggly piggies send healing wheeks and piggy kisses to Betsy for a good recovery x
 
OH and I went to collect Betsy a couple of hours ago. Here she is in the hospital cage.

I did try to syringe feed her but she didn't really want it. The vet nurse said she had been syringe fed her so I reckon that Betsy had just been fed before I picked her up. She has done plenty of poops and has wee'd to so happy with that. :)

Good news that there are poops and wees already! She'll probably need to sleep off the anaesthetic a bit, hopefully she'll get her appetite back by tomorrow x

I'll try feeding her at 10pm. She took her medicine alright. I'm hoping she's not eating that much cos she is still feeling a bit woozy.
 
Sorry I seemed to have missed this thread update! Glad to hear Betsy is doing well, although maybe a bit spaced out!

Such massive surgery for a small piggy.
Your little piggies never seem to do surgery by halves. What with Christian 's massive abscess and now Betsy's huge ovaries.

I’m so pleased to see the ever beautiful Betsy back in her home. Hope she is soon feeling more like her old self.
