Hugs and prayers
 
Having a few days away and went to visit a nearby city. When I parked up this morning I had a car on my driver's side and the passenger side space was empty. I was perfectly parked. The car park had plenty of spaces and I was in the middle so not a prime location or anything. When I came back a large car was now on my passenger side.

As I was sitting there programming the sat nav, the couple in the monster truck returned. Chap is rather large and struggled to get between my car and his...he first brushed against my mirror and then opened his door right onto the mine. As he lowered his rump I actually heard his car door squeak down mine.

I jumped out my car and went round to his side and asked him why he'd done that. No apology, no realisation that he'd been rude and careless. He just said he was trying to get his big body into a small space.

Now I don't do confrontation too well and of course I had the best responses afterwards. But I wish I'd have asked him why his size meant my car deserved bad treatment, or why he'd chosen that particular spot, when there'd been plenty of others available.

Thankfully it doesn't look like it's caused any damage. But why are people so careless with other people's property. Grrr.
 
People are nuts! I was browsing Etsy for a new haybag and I can’t believe the things people make and expect pets to endure. Bunny necklace chains (with a picture of two poor buns wearing it) bunny neckerchiefs, bowties… if you want to dress something up there’s alternatives to making your pets wear these ridiculous things :( its just cruel

Why would anyone want to put a necklace on a pet?!? Or anything else for that matter. It really beggars belief! Why would you even think of making stuff like that?!?
 
I was eating a Mug Shot. I tried to swallow. My throat forgot how swallowing works. Not only has this not happened for a while but it's been a long, long time since it took that long to remember what it was doing. I also pulled a muscle in my shoulder trying to fix it. Don't ask me how, I don't know, but now I have an almost-scalded throat and a sore shoulder and I'm grumpy.
 
Fifteen minutes of crows and magpies screaming at each other, from trees, my roof, other trees, other roofs. Fifteen. Silence is weird. And I think the crows started it for once, except I can still hear one lone magpie and if it doesn't shut up the crows will be back.

Soap opera in the trees. :td:

Scary! I couldn't swallow once - not a clue why, I tried several times and it just wouldn't work - cue feeling of panic. Bit like when you can't breathe. Fortunately it went back to normal after a couple of minutes, but it's one of those things that you do without thinking and having to think about doing it seems to make it harder :)

Exactly. It tends to trigger for me when it's liquids rather than solid food, hot or cold. But cold liquids don't tend to scald your throat. Tea and coffee are easy to avoid, soup I usually get past by using bread as an alternative spoon. Been a while since something like noodles has set it off.

But the entire time you're sitting there like, why won't it work. It worked 30 seconds ago. And because the reflex is automatic, consciously trying to do it is even harder. I'm just glad it hasn't triggered in front of people, because how do you explain "it's fine I'm not choking" when you can't even get the food out of your throat.

In other news I swear every single building alarm that could go off in the area has been going off ever since the birds shut up. There's two separate ones going off at the moment, but there's been at least 3 others in the past few hours. Edit: Nope, there's a third one going off now too.
 
Split a nail sometime last week. Filed it best I could but because it peeled a bit, the sensitive under layer of nail is slightly exposed. Keep filing it gently when I can but the sensation goes through me!

Ouch. I felt the sensation just reading it. Couldn’t you cut it any shorter, or has it spilt really low down?

Nasty! When my lovely Late Mum did the same thing, she put a plaster over her finger until the nail grew back. Is this something you can do? or are you allergic to plasters?
 
Whenever I think I have some spare money to put back in my savings, something else crops up 😞 We received a letter today to say that our service charge (which is a joke within itself as they’re not even providing a service) is increasing. My husband usually pays the household bills but he can’t afford the increase on top of everything else going up so he’s asked me to pay some towards the increase. It’s only fair but just annoying as that’s my spare cash I had left spent on nothing 😞

I filed it again last night.... very gently as makes my toes curl! Then I put a plaster over it so wouldn't catch it as was itritating me. It is growing out as that is the second time I've filed it as low as it will go/as low as I can stand it so hopefully not take top much longer. I think I must have caught it at some point yesterday and this reminded me it was like that. Probably not helping that its on my dominant hand. Nails eh!

Just had another one of these posted through my door, not a problem except that the young lad who delivered it left my gates wide open and I had just let the dogs in the garden. He seemed unimpressed that I rushed out to close it and when I challenged him and told him he'd left the gate open he simply replied I'll close it on the way out, I pointed out I have dogs and that they could escape and all he could say is that they didn't. I wasted my time trying to explain that it is common courtesy that if you walk through a closed gate you close it behind you and then do the same upon leaving.
He didn't care, I get it, it's not a great job, probably paid poorly but I wish these companies would teach basic manners. 🤷‍♀️☹️

Letter home from my children's secondary school saying that from sept  All students will have to wear tailored trousers, they can wear tailored knee length shorts in the summer and a more gender neutral PE kit will be phased in.
It basically looks like they are trying to be more gender neutral, which I have no issue with, but it also appears to be in part that they have issues with girls rolling their skirts up. That is an issue that will continue forever, it was an issue when I was younger it will be an issue when my children have children.
Am I looking at this wrong? Does anyone see it differently?

It's all a bit silly really isn't it. All for them having more gender neutral options as I hate to hear schools enforcing skirts on girls without any choice (I would have hated that at school). But to introduce something new at the cost of another option defeats the object
 
My secondary school has a different uniform for girls and boys, and I do mean different, not just blouses/shirts or skirts/trousers. They wear entirely different colours. It goes back to when they were two separate schools and then merged, but that was before I was born. Long before I was born. Possibly before my parents were born.

Not long after I left the principal apparently decided the uniform was going to change - for everyone. New colours so both genders wore the same, but wildly different colours from what they currently use. I remember my mum and my sister getting up in arms about it, not because of the price of a new uniform, oh no. Because the colours would be changed. Can't be changing those colours, that's like, the recognisable school brand!

I wish they'd done it. The girls have an awful uniform. Bottle green, apple green, red, and fawn. It's horrific.
 
Stood at the bus stop, perched on the seat waiting for the bus. Some idiot sits next to me and begins blowing their vape thing in all directions! Am I being unreasonable to think some form of manners (or something) could have been used to not blow it all over me? Maybe even standing outside of the bus shelter? Or away from me?

So today it gets worse, some of the student body decided to protest, it resulted in police being called and they shut the school!
So my children have been sent home, missed lessons and a GCSE study group.
Everyone has the right to be heard and protest but this is madness.
They didn't consult with parents about the changes and the way it was worded and communicated was poor but some of the comments I have heard, which have come from parents, are equally as bad.
 
I have for weeks been grumbling at myself to ring up my CC company, because the date on my old one is for this month but I hadn't seen any sign of the new one. I don't really like ringing people up because of history with TSB and losing access to my accounts because people don't read the notes on the screen in front of them. The CC people have generally been decent about it but, y'know, it's extra work.

Damned thing's been sitting in a half opened envelope on the arm of my sofa. For weeks. I half opened it and then either didn't twig, or just forgot, that it was there. Probably the first one. In fact, it looks like it's been sitting there before I even went to London.

I don't know how I manage to be a functional adult sometimes.

They've not appreciated the recent weather where it's too cold to have the heating off or the blinds closed but too warm to have the heating on. Me either. It's too stuffy to have the heating on in my room even with the window open. But then it's not warm enough in the goblin castle to have it off. They can't decide whether to stay in bed or leave it, lol, and I'd be saying the same if I didn't have to be out tomorrow. I'm also hoping the rebuildable tank holds out until I'm home tomorrow because I don't really want to redo it tonight. Life was so much easier when I could just shove a tobacco pouch in my pocket, lol.
