A place to rant about things that wind you up ( keep it clean lol)

I can hear Camowen systematically trying to drain a water bottle in the next room. He was originally trying to bite the spout off so I raised it to the next gap up, but at the rate he's going that bottle's going to be empty by midnight.

They're not big drinkers, and there's no way this isn't as obvious a hint as they can give that doesn't involve him screaming his head off at me. I mean, I'm grateful it's not the screaming though.

They do and this is why I love this place. I can no longer join in the guinea pig chat but I am still accepted.

I am trying to be good though, food wise. I think my problem is that a lot of the time I'm dehydrated, without knowing and then eat bigger food portions than I need to. I'm hoping with smaller portions and more water its a step in the right direction... never know, some sort of exercise may follow!

Did you join in the diet discussion group that was started a day or so ago? It will at least motivate you to drink more water.

Diet Club was actually started a good many years ago but has been revisited from time to time. It was revisted again a few days ago when some of us members decided it was time to get rid of excess weight. For me, personally, it was Cruises/Christmas/All Inclusive Holiday in Lanzarote weight to try and rid my body of!

I wish I could explain how incredibly confused I am right now. I am not good with paperwork even on a good day but this feels beyond me. Turns out the E.on payments I could've sworn I'd set up didn't get set up properly and now I owe them money. That much is fair. They've directed me towards the E.on Next Energy Fund, which again...fair.

Except in order to fill it out I need to add numbers to the form - current readings (that's fine), but account number (it's asking for the electric and gas separately but I think they're the same account number?), and debt amount and that debt amount makes...zero sense. I can't find anything that remotely resembles debt amount numbers because I apparently paid money yesterday (which I didn't) but I'm also apparently in credit, which makes no sense if the bill's supposed to be as astronomically high as it is.

:td: Needs done for Monday too and no, I didn't leave it til the last minute.

Yeah 10 minutes of trying to find info that doesn't exist and I've just told E.on to metaphorically shove it. I'll have to ring them on Monday. Joys. :roll:

customers and working in hospitality.
I had a lady aggressively shout at me for 5 minutes yesterday because her food came out 8 minutes after her husband’s. She was SO rude, so awful I was gobsmacked as she kept complaining and shouting at me. I told her to stop talking to me like that, stop shouting at me as I have apologised and did let her know that there was a bit of a wait. Yet she kept on going, her behaviour was disgusting. I was SO busy, she totally ruined my day and made me shaky and teary for the next hour while I tried to continue making coffees and serving people.
And then today..I had another rude Ars*h***. Who is a regular and he’s always up himself and egotistic. But today he was next level, he was rude to me for NO reason when I just wanted to confirm it was almond milk he wanted and not Dairy as I didn’t hear him order it. And then when I gave him his coffee, we put smarties on top of the coffee lids but I forgot he doesn’t like them so he took the smarties off and told me to ‘stick them where the sun don’t shine’ :yikes:
As he was leaving I shouted to him ‘Well YOU’RE in a bad mood today aren’t you!’.. ‘YUP’ he replied.

Unbelievable. I’ve had a terrible weekend at work! People’s behaviour astound me!
And honestly, I’m friendly and great at my job! I absolutely did nothing to condone either of those people to treat me like that.
I’m so upset, and makes me hate my job. I hate people.

I’d say it’s acceptable to ask your boss so you do not to have to deal with that regular
It seems these people were angry and took it out on someone, I don’t think it was you personally.
BUT it’s still awful.
Please don’t let it spoil your work …..you know how good you are ( you were head hunted after all) and every customer knows how good you are at your job and lovely you are.
It was just unfortunate that these two unpleasant people came into the cafe yesterday.
Just to mention( in case you’ve forgotten )……...you are a lovely , caring, thoughtful , hardworking person and your cafe would be a sad place if you gave it up. ❤️

Hannah there is a saying that goes "You take it out on those you love the most". Maybe these people thought that they could take their frustration out on you because they felt comfortable enough with you to act that way. I'm certainly not condoning their behaviour in any way because nobody should be treated to such shocking behaviour or have to put up with it. Just trying to find a reason behind it.
 
So sorry that they ruined your day Hannah. As I was reading about the woman (really no need to behave that way!), I thought maybe you could walk away from such a situation next time. You tell them (as you did) to stop shouting at you then turn and walk off. I don’t know how feasible that is but hope next time you can do it.

As for the man, it’s busy. He needs to get over himself. The world doesn’t revolve around him.

You’re a lovely person and I’m sure you are appreciated by the other customers. I hope they realise how rude they were. 💕

It baffles me how people can be so rude to others. I could never imagine ever acting that way to someone else, especially someone who is just trying to do their job.

next time, hopefully I won’t let them tempt me to retaliate and I will just walk away!
 
I think of people like this as sad little people. They take pleasure in making someone else feel bad. Some people do it to get a free meal. I agree say sorry if there was a mix up and walk away.

People are loony all over. I’ve been written up at work because (you’re going to love this!) I was, “too friendly and enthusiastic.” The assistant manager thought the customer was joking, then actually wrote me up while he smugly watched. He said, “you’ll think twice about being so nice next time!” as he left. The assistant manager actually put the form in my file, and admonished me after he left. Oddly, I was paid more than the assistant manager. 😆 Me and my attitude.
 
I use my big dustpan and brush every week to clean out the piggies. OH borrowed the brush and said he'd put it back in the garage. If he did then I'm a fish! I can't find it anywhere. I have to make do with the little silicone brush I use to clean the fleeces and it's really not the same!
