What made you happy today?

After a hellish week losing our beloved piggie Thomas, my sister got me Taylor Swift tickets in the standing section! I can’t believe we got the tickets! Thomas knew what a massive Swiftie I was (he had to listen to her everyday!) and I definitely think he must have been watching over us making sure we got the tickets! Just what I needed after a difficult week, excited doesn’t cover it!
 
Had a very productive time in York today.
We sorted out broadband for our house in Yorkshire as retirement is getting closer.
We missed the rainstorm because we were enjoying lunch in a Turkish restaurant and it had stopped by the time we left.
We also managed to get a new paper bag for the piggies and watch / listen to some street musicians

Scrubbing the bathroom floor tiles 🤣 as odd as it sounds they hold dirt a bit too much and every now and then just need a proper scrub. Also it would appear that getting on my hands and knees to scrub the bathroom floor is definitely my theme of nesting as I did it when heavily pregnant with Jessica too 🤣
 
Dead heading 3 very large clumps of calendula. It took me an hour this morning to sort out something that should have taken 5 minutes thanks to a officious and intelligible website. It was so frustrating I gave up in the end and took my custom elsewhere. As each head fell from the plant I chanted off with her head. Sometimes silly things can be so satisfactory!
 
A while back we booked a charity maternity photo shoot. It was only 15 mins long but I really assumed my mobility would prevent me from going. We made it and got some lovely photos which we will receive in around 2 weeks time. We used the same photographer for the in laws golden wedding anniversary so it was great to feel comfortable with her straight away
 
The neighbor needs physical therapy, and has cooperated for me these past few weeks. Her in-home therapist? She won’t budge! It’s only because I talk to the therapist that she knows what her client can do. It’s wonderful being useful, but an extra bonus I am so trusted.
 
Having a lovely holiday in Yorkshire, mostly catching up with friends and doing some work on the house ready for retirement next year.
Had a lovely meal with 2 of our neighbours last night and another couple of neighbours have invited us for an ‘indoor barbecue’ this week.
Lunch with another friend in York tomorrow.

We went to Yorkshire Lavender today. Beautiful setting and I managed to get a pic of a bee on the lavender.
Husband planted the lavender we bought after I helped to clear the ground.
 
I got to splash in the sea this weekend (after the thunderstorm!) and also bought new books to read from the charity shop... because I needed more books to read when I have a few (ish!) that I haven't read yet anyway.
 
We had a lovely lunch and catch up with my daughter and son in law in a pub in Somerset. They live in Cornwall so we don't see them very often. They had a secret wedding with only 2 work colleagues as witnesses a little while ago. This avoided a lot of family politics! They have given me a lovely photo of their special day. I am so happy for them.
 
I got stung by a bee on my foot. A strange thing to be happy about I know but I didn't get an allergic reaction. I react very badly to wasps and was afraid when it first happened I was going to have a swollen foot and not be able to walk. It was incredibly painful for a while but a slice of very juicy lemon from the bar fixed it, I came home with a very sticky foot!

I’m sorry you got stung but relieved you didn’t have a bad reaction to it.

I made it through my second year. Almost didn’t but I pushed through. Today was the last day with my lovely class as I’ll be moving to a new school come September. Everyone at new school is lovely so that’s good.

Now for summer and knitting! 😆
 
Slight panic today as midwife visited and bump measurements didn't follow the previous pattern so had to get referred for a scan. Hospital called and got us in today and everything is absolutely fine, baby boy is growing very well and we got a sneak peek at his grumpy face 😂

To be honest, the concern over bump size was positioning and the sonographer asked straight away if I had had any contractions so I think we are talking days now 🤪 getting some panic sewing done tonight considering I had cut out a newborn size and then thought it might go to waste if I don't get a wriggle on 😂
