What made you happy today?

Good day today. My son and his girlfriend have signed contracts for their first home together today.

And my daughters boyfriend has just been told he’s been successful in getting a new job after being made redundant the day they had their mortgage approved. So it’s all steam ahead with their house purchase now.

Not so happy they will both be flying the nest this year though.

That's beaten out my "hallelujah the washing machine completed a wash" thing from this afternoon.
 
My smoke alarm has been up to its usual antics for several days now. Why am I happy about this? Well, after it did it twice today, I remembered some very important information...and now that particular smoke alarm is sitting on the coffee table, and I've got guaranteed peace and quiet until I want to go to bed, lol. Silence really is golden!

They're my fave. Especially when you get a particularly good batch that freeze well and go a nice slushy texture rather than sharp and icy (not sure that makes sense but it does in my brain) 😂

Have you tired the apple tango ones?

I absolutely love Llangollen. Quick hour drive and it feels like you're miles away. Hope you dipped your feet in the river in that heat yesterday.

I eat them as normal til there's maybe a third of it left, and then I smash down the rest so it's a runny slush, best way to finish them off lol. I haven't had the tango ones, do they use artificial sweeteners at all? I really don't like the taste, and the Vimto ones only use sugar.

Lucky you - I'm still hoping the forecast is correct for rain later this afternoon here, it got it wrong yesterday. Our pond has dried down to the leaves at the bottom, everywhere is dry as a bone.
 
The thunder I'm hearing now is something else too, especially since it's not close by. I don't remember ever hearing thunder like it. It's bad enough I've switched off the PC, if that storm gets closer I don't want to risk it.

The goblins, meanwhile, seem to barely acknowledge its existence lol.
 
When my Digby (Guinea Pig) got put to sleep a couple months ago, under my decision, I felt terrible with guilt and pain.

I decided to bury him in the back of the garden, and plant a flower for him.
I planted a climbing flower of some sort, I am useless at gardening, and I placed a tall metal "decoration" for the flower to climb on.
Watching this plant grow upwards and taking the time to water it and watch it flourish, lets me feel like I am taking care of my boy once again.

I feel so close to him when I get a chance to take care of 'him', and I am glad I get an opportunity to be with him again.

After sweating buckets working in a warehouse with a tin roof and no AC. I've just had a cool shower and I'm currently sat in my drawers with wet hair in front of the fan.

That's it, a cool shower has made me happy! I'm not made for this weather.
 
This week I've worn shorts (knee length) or leggings every day, including to work! I've come to accept that there are worse legs out there than mine.

Also bought a summer dress from Morrisons. Then I saw someone double my age wearing it but I still like it!

We’re going to be in Yorkshire when the Driffield Show is on and I am contemplating entering a cake in the gluten free category.
If the vanilla and raspberry loaf passes the husband test I may have a go - unless I wimp out!

I hear piggies getting insistent about feeding time.
They must have inbuilt clocks that says it is time for veggies.
I love hearing them shout at me for food.
