Stripe and Chesney

Now there are Easter eggs in the shops, I wonder what lucky guinea pigs will be getting for Spring 🌱

It's 6:45 am and we're up! I was doing a poop and mom had to laugh because I was really concentrating! Now I'm playing with my toy. Mom cut off the dangerous rope and bead choking hazard.

Chez gets Boston lettuce today, pictured below.

Mom has to leave for work at 9.

I'm popcorning but meds are coming soon, I'll just try to run away.

Waited for Chez to do a fresh poo after spot cleaning and had some hot water waiting for poo soup. It didn't take long so Stripe had his first dose of poo soup. Vet recommended every day for two weeks. How long do you usually soak it?

Chez was zooming and he messed up his fleece. Now Stripe is rearranging his furniture. I've given up!

No work today.

I'm going to do a Farsi lesson and possibly clean, get a few things at the grocery store.

My dad sent me $300 because I was complaining about grocery costs.

Barrett has an exam and vaccine next Wednesday at the boys vet.

Someone just had his poo soup. The "chef" provided nicely. Vet lady suggested every day for two weeks.

Don't know what Stripe is doing but it involves digging. Chez is burrowing under the fleece, I can hear poop scattering around.

We are opening a new bookstore and today I'm going to apply to transfer. The manager asked me to and said I could possibly be in charge of the gift department, which is a lot of work and attention to detail. I could possibly become a manager, too. Interviews early in the week.

What lovely news.
Hope the interviews go well

Good luck. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Chez was begging for cookies so I put my finger in the cage, which means no more cookies, they know this. He gave me kisses, popcorned and let out a huge squeak.

Stripe's poop is still not normal on day 3 of poo soup. I'll give it a few more days.

I am potato.

Hi guys, we're eating our breakfast.

Mom has some bad news about the cat. He was diagnosed with FIV yesterday. It's like HIV for cats. She's had him six years and never knew. He was a stray when the rescue found him, so must've fought with an infected cat. The thing is he can live a normal life span but maybe not be able to fight infection if he gets sick.

They said he can be boarded at the vet but he'll have to stay with the dogs.

That's two special needs pets.

We have cage cleaning, weighing and health checks this morning.

Ah lovely Barrett - I hope you’re not worried Ramia - my MIL had a hiv cat and he lived til 16 years

Poor boy, he is such a sweet kitty. I hope it stays under control. Poor Mom, she must be worried.

Sorry to hear about the cat’s diagnosis.
At least he’s in good hands with you and will receive the best of care.

Someone's watching Chez eat his veggies and is wondering why he doesn't get any. His stool just isn't there yet, there were some soft ones yesterday as well as beans.

Time to spot clean, make poo soup and do metacam. I'll let Stripe finish his popcorning first.

My interview went really well for the new store, she'll let me know Monday and said I'll probably be promoted my next review in May.

Stripe gained 14 grams.

Chez must've been spooked by something, he walks slowly and cautiously to his lettuce. Will observe.

Chez has a nail appointment Monday morning. We're going to a non exotic vet down the road that says they can do it. Our exotics is 40 minutes away so this will be convenient. They seemed nice on the phone.

Stripe is playing with his hut. He has an old cloth hut that's gone floppy and lays on its side. If I try to upright it he prefers it in its side. I have a replacement for it but he seems to love it.

He's wheeking.

Well done Mom, more cash for cookies 😉 And a nice, interesting job. Ace!

Stripey is currently zooming, so I'll wait with meds.

Good news, I'm hiring a lawn service for spring and summer, so no lawn mowing! I'll just have to weed the flower bed and pick up branches. Chillax!

Stripe's poop looked good again this morning, but I'm going to hold off on veg

Chez did a mountain of poo.

My mum actually had a (stray)cat with FIV. He was a infected senior when moving in, but I think she had him around 8-10 years? The right vet can do wonders for cats with FIV. This was around 15-20years ago he got the diagnosis and I can imagine there's so much more knowledge about caring and medications now. I think you can give him an amazing life 💜 I played nanny a couple of times and he was such a sweet and lovely (big) boy. 10years after he passed my mum is still heartbroken.

Boys are zooming and popcorning and wheeking.

Chez has a nail trim today at a new vet. It's just down the street. Hope he behaves!

Trying to work up the motivation to clean cages. Will wait an hour.

Oh the drama!
As you may be aware, Master Boris can be a dramatic diva. As for cutting his nails.....well, the screaming is horrific. Daddy slave and I now manage together BUT it was nearly always done at the vets previously.
You let the vet know just how much of a problem child you have....then.....
NOTHING...
Just let's them get on with it while looking adorable.
Then you get to look like YOU are the one who overreacts!

Stripe is very active this morning. He's digging in his bedding (which I honestly don't like), running in and out of his hide. Tomorrow it'll be one month off the antibiotics and still no sign of an ear infection.

Chez sneezed 3 times so I'm observing him. I hope he didn't catch cold at his nail trim yesterday. I warmed up the car.

Stripe's stool looks good and I'm scared to introduce veg because every time I do it gets soft again. But I'll get some basil today, I know he can tolerate that.

Yesterday's new willow balls are still a hit. They're stuffed with hay.

Stripe's zooming away and Chez and him are playing with their balls.

I'll let them play a while, it won't matter if meds wait.

I forgot my dream but I remember it having a plot like a movie.

Don't touch my ball!

The boys are being quite vocal this morning, talking to each other and chutting and wheeking together. I wonder what they are saying!

Stripe is popcorning a bit. He's been off antibiotics for four weeks yesterday and so far so good!

The boys are still interested in their willow balls.

In about two hours I'll clean cages and do health checks. Gotta get the motivation.

I got the job at the new bookstore we're building! Manager said she's excited to take me along. Starting in March we'll be setting up. Looking forward to it because it'll be less busy.

Congratulations 🎉👏 Well done! Starting in Spring is good 🌷 Great news about Stripe, what a good boy!
