Stripe and Chesney

Sometimes there is that awkward moment where a slave dangles you over the cage, a quick cautionary burr to remind them to be careful is not a bad thing. Pressing on partly digested hay cookies may also give cause for similar sounds, but a well trained slave should be careful šŸ˜‰

What? You have the camera out? You must give me a cookie if you want a picture.

Today will be an early cage cleaning at 8 am because I have an appointment. Health check for both.

Stripe's getting along well with the slow introduction to veg and he's been off antibiotics six weeks!

I'm paying to have the lawn mowed this season and they also told me I paid for spring cleaning so they will pick up all the branches! That just leaves me two garden beds to weed.

So great preparing for Spring. Will your piggies go out to graze once it's warm enough? Chez strong voice should tell the vet he has good breathing šŸ”Šā¤ļøšŸŖšŸŖšŸŖ

If they do they will have to go separate as they are not bonded. We'll see.

Just got cages cleaned and Stripe's weight is stable off critical care!

Thatā€™s wonderful for lovely Stripe šŸ„°
Hopefully you feel a bit more relaxed ā˜ŗļø

Stripe made a little noise yesterday and was shaking his head a little bit, so I've been observing him for an ear infection. It's been six weeks off the antibiotics today, so I was a little nervous. But I don't see any head tilt or mobility problems. He's currently chewing his willow ball.

He did a massive pile of well formed, good size beans. Chez, though, is the bean machine.

Today I have coffee with a family friend. Unfortunately she parrots Trump and I don't know what to say. She's a doctor but is very conservative politically and religiously.

Stripe ate all of his 2nd cutting hay, or he flattened some. But I think he ate it all. It has a little powder in it which makes me fear they will get it in their eyes, but they like it. I was paranoid last night because both were itchy about a half hour after giving it and I thought it had come with mites. But they are not itching today. This Hay will save me $30 a month.

Pepper will have to wait till I go to the store because it had mold on it.

I stayed on my budget this week.

Two days till Stripe's birthday!

I have to leave in two hours for work so I got up an hour early to spend time with the boys.

Chez left the spines of his lettuce.

Both are popcorning a bit and yesterday they had a great time supervised with their pine cones. I didn't want them eating too much.

Stripe is doing well on a little veg, I increased his pepper yesterday.

Meds and spot cleaning after I smoke and get some coffee.

They still like their willow balls and don't need supervision with those.

Polo leaves his lettuce spines too šŸ„¬ but Truffle eats them all. Curious šŸ§ Great that pepper is still on the menu šŸ«‘ There is no emoji for yellow bell pepper, the nicest one. Perhaps it was eaten by hungry guinea pigs.
It is nice to make time for good things šŸ¾

Just brought the Cookie Boys their lettuce.

Stripe is talking and popcorning.

Chez hates being handled but gives me lots of kisses on my hands. He popcorns all day, whereas Stripe sticks to dawn and dusk.

I've got the day off, but I should get groceries and cook.

When I try to lift the boys chins to say no more cookies they just move away.

Unfortunately she parrots Trump and I don't know what to say.
There was that one good thing he did? Something about animal welfare, which you mentioned I think. I realise that doesn't weigh much against everything else he does... and one good thing in 4+ years not really a recommendation but hoomans can't be as talented as guinea pigs, that's the whole problem. If only the world was run by guineas!

Tbh I'd have trouble speaking to anybody parroting Trump rn, so sending sympathy.

One more shift Saturday at the old store then next week we start setting up the new store.

I might get a massage soon.

Ramadan starts soon but I don't fast due to a health issue so I give charity instead.

Stripe has some stained fur under his chin, which is white.

I really need to vacuum the boys room, hay everywhere since the cleaners came.

Chez whips his cucumber around like a dog does to its prey.

I should clean today.

Well, just an uneventful day with the boys! They aren't doing anything funny.

Hi guys, here I am eating my pellets:

Chez is sick of Boston lettuce. Gotta get something else from the store today.

Mom's gonna cook a neo american adaptation of chicken curry today from her milk street cookbook, Simple by Milk Street. A coworker recommended it.

Tomorrow start setting up the new store. 8 am sharp.

Mom spent $30 on more books yesterday because the pharmacy and clinic she goes to gave her the run around and she had to kill some time.

She bought a Sartre book because she has always been curious how the existentialists think we have free will.

It's 5:30 am had to get up early to take care of the boys and get to work on time.

Both were sleeping.

I was insulted for being a dumb American on another website because I asked how existentialists responded to Spinoza who said we don't have free will. Was that a stupid question? His answer was that there is no God so we have free will. I thought some spinozists were atheists and still believed we didn't have free will, so I was just curious. Was it dumb? Gosh, he didn't have to insult me.

Gotta go get some pepper! Boys are waking up.

that guy appears rude ā€¦. a considerate answer would have been much better !

How rude to answer an intelligent question with an insult.
Maybe he didnā€™t understand what you were asking and so opted for discourtesy instead of either keeping quiet or asking what you meant.

I have no idea about Spinoza but I believe we have free will because God exists

Whether God exists or not - humans have fought always for free speech

The boys are chutting along today.

Luckily I have two and a half hours before I have to leave for work so in about a half hour I'll clean their cages. That way Chez will have a clean fleece to drag his butt on!

I posted on another thread that when I work the boys act up when I get home. They did it again, constant begging for cookies. Stripe also seemed a little spooked. Hopefully since I'm going to spend 3 hours with them this morning they will be fine when I get home at 8.

Just got home from my third day in a row setting up the new store and tomorrow I have to be there at 8 and it's daylight savings tonight.

Came home, ate, sat with the cat now Chez is zooming.

Stripe let me stroke him a bit but now they are begging.

Looking forward to the longer days.

Just worked in 4 days what I usually do in 2 weeks! I was so sore last night and I have wounds all over my hands from opening boxes.

I guess I'm going to have a bigger role at the new bookstore where I'll be in charge of gift, newsstand, toy and game, and greeting cards. I'll have zoom meetings.

But I have today off to spend with the boys! I'll clean cages in 2 hours, go grocery shopping, clean the kitchen and chill.

Stripe was being a wheeker, he'll get weighed today but the boys don't need health checks.

Stripe's poop still looks good but he's not on cucumber or coriander yet.

Oh Stripey, we really wish a very good cucumber soon! Cant live without it. Kongo actually acts offended if slave gives him coriander. I think its okay, but not as good as cucumber (or spinach, carrot, basil, romain... My appetite for both hay and veggies are very much alive again!).

Love Joe

Another early, long day at the bookstore. I'll miss the boys so much! But then I have three days off in a row.

The boys were up when I came in at 6.

Thursday it will be 9 weeks off antibiotics and no sign of an ear infection! It's so easy to give him his daily meds. What'll I do if wild child Chez gets sick?

Gotta leave in ten minutes to get coffee.

I have a new method to stop the begging:

I pet their cheeks. Neither of them like it so when they bite the bars I try petting their cheeks and after a couple strokes they give up on biting the bars and go back to their hay.

Is that cruel?
