Ginger is home. We have lots of meds for him. He has eaten his veg and nibbled at the hay. I'm just going to give him a little syringe feed to top him up before I go to bed.
Thanks for all your good wishes for Ginger Pig. He is a little worse for wear this morning. His back legs are a bit wobbly and he is a bit swollen. I rang the vet and they didn't seem too concerned. I am to continue to syringe feed him and monitor him, i can take him in any time if he deteriorates.
He ate all is veggies and 10ml of syringe feed and then nibbled hay for a while. He peed and pooped while i was feeding him so everything is working ok. He is sleeping now.
This is the stone that was removed from his urethra. Lucky that it didn't get stuck further up as he would probably have not survived. It must have been very painful for him.
Ginger Pig would like everyone to know that he has finally got out of his sick bed today. He is hoping this means no more of the yucky syringe feed. Even though his back legs are not quite obeying his brain properly (this could be because of the very high dose of Gabapentin) so he is a bit wobbly.
I was getting worried as he hadn't really moved for two days and then tonight he suddenly started to wander around the cage, had a chew of the hay cube and then sat himself down in the hay pile. Fingers crossed he is on the road to recovery.xx
No one tell Ginger Pig he is still getting the recovery food for a couple more days.
I hope Ginger continues to move around, even if he is not aware he is getting better.all your care will have been/be a great part of his progress.Hugs.xx
