Eriathwens piggies

Poppet is home, she was very flat at the vet when she was brought out but she slowly perked up hearing our voices, once home it took her about 20 minutes to come round but hearing her friends, familiar smells and surroundings soon had her up and eating 😀

Apparently this other vet uses injectable aneasthetic whereas mine usually uses gas. So it took a little longer to wear off, but she's happy to be home.

All 3 little babies have gained weight today too so very happy with that.

Shes had 24ml of critical care and gone back up to a fresh pile of hay which she has eaten some of. She's currently having a nice nap, she's due her painkillers soon too. Just wish she would poo, but I suppose that will come eventually.

I cleaned Ivy and babies out, Oliver seems to have finally noticed and I got this adorable picture of him saying hello to Popcorn! He denies all knowledge or responsibility, especially since the vet had a look at his bits and bobs while he was there earlier 🤣 I reassured him he can't be neutered twice lol

Awww...saying hello to naughty daddy! 😂😂😍😍😍

Poppet has been a bit of a pain over the weekend, shes managed to remove the tissue adhesive and there's a little bit of suture material sticking out on the right incision.. So I'll be calling the vet first thing to see if they can see her 🙃

Shes been so angry about things as well, she's bitten a bit of my finger off which is fair, if someone kept shoving a syringe of food in my mouth when I felt unwell I'd probably bite them too 🤣 so totally forgiven.

She did very grumpily snatch up some hay and made a great show of eating it, almost as if to say "Fine, I'll bloody eat, leave me alone!" 😅 she's been eating and pooping fine since, although I'm still topping her up.

Babies are still growing! They've begun gaining weight, they're now all above their birth weights with Banjo sitting at 103g, Kiwi at 111g and Popcorn is 119g. Poor Ivy is having to put up with their new game which they think is great, jumping up onto her back while she's trying to rest or eat 😅

Poor Poppet. I hope she’s happier and feeling better soon.

Glad Ivy and the pups are doing good.

Poor Poppet, she does look fed up! Sending lots of healing vibes her way. Those babies are just so cute and sound very playful!

They really are funny, never still, always zipping around 🤣 it's so hard to get pictures and videos of them, they're never slow enough for me to keep up with!

Panda has decided she also fancies a trip to the vet, her dental issues from previously are bothering her again, the loose tooth is almost out but not loose enough for me to gently remove, it's preventing her from taking bites of her veggies though so I've had to shred and grate her dinner. She then decided she couldn't possibly eat it out of a bowl (she was perfectly capable 😅) so I had to sit and hand feed her every single piece. There's some blood around the gum and some crud collected that smells rancid so better make sure she hasn't developed an infection.

Oh gorgeous panda. Hope everything settles with your teeth very soon

I hope that both Poppet and Panda are feeling better soon. It's lovely to see Ivy's babies, they are very cute.😍😍

Poppet and Panda have an appointment Wednesday although a note has been left for my vet re: Poppet, he is in surgery all day so hasn't any availability. But they're going to see if there's anything he wants to do before their appointment.

I broke the news to Poppet that she's getting a little porky with the extra feedings.. she didn't take it well! 🤣🤣

If only they could talk. Although i am not sure that you would like what she has to say. 😂

There was definitely some choice words going on from her! Even more so when I was able to nab her a cancellation with the vet just now 🤣
Shes had her incision all tidied up and she's been allowed back with her friends during the day when I can supervise her, in an effort to distract her from chewing it again. She's very pleased about that part at least!

She has been getting a little covered in urine however, so if she's no better in that regard by Wednesday I can collect her some antibiotics when I'm in with Panda, in case she's picked up a UTI.

Hes going to discuss the aneasthesia with the other vet, because I haven't been particularly happy with her recovery in comparison to other surgeries we've done, and if Bailey and Fern are being spayed on the same day, the level of care they'll need while getting over the injectable is pushing what I have to give. If they still want to use injectable I may have to pull one of them and reschedule, they both deserve the best care I can give and I won't compromise on that, but I'd rather not half kill myself doing so if I don't have to.

Oh look at that expression on her face 😂

So typically, Pandas wobbly tooth has fallen out, I even gave it a gentle pull this morning as it seemed so loose but didn't budge 🙄 the gum definitely smells infected, I was hoping to be able to see the tooth when it came out to see what the issue was, if it was cracked or deformed..

It was there when I left for a run at 6 (pictured) but gone 90 minutes later. And yes, I did scour the floor of an almost 4 metre square cage trying to find it amongst the hay 😂 never mind, at least it won't be hurting her gum anymore and eating will be more comfortable, she has an appointment tomorrow still where she can get cleaned up.

Ivy's beautiful little family are 1 week old today!

Some would say I forgot..others would say I waited until evening for it to cool down before handling them 👀 we'll never know 🤣

Ivy is still doing an absolutely fantastic job 🥰

Banjo has gone from 95g to 119g
Kiwi has gone from 99g to 127g
And Popcorn has gone from 111g to 133g!

Ivy is maintaining her weight at about 880g, hopefully once she's weaned the babies she can start gaining weight and growing herself!

Panda saw my vet today, her loose tooth came out yesterday evening but the smell was still really awful. He cleaned her up a little bit and found the other lower one was also wobbly. We made the decision for her to go out the back to try to have it removed under sedation. Unfortunately my vet was unable to find where it had broken in order to get leverage to get it out so to avoid damaging her jaw, it was left for now.

He was able to dig out a shard of tooth out of the other side that had been left behind when the other one fell out though, which is something. She has a week of antibiotics and metacam, if there's still a smell or looks like the other can come out, she will go back.

She also had the other ones burred down to make her more comfortable. She's awake, eating and happy :)
