Eriathwens piggies

Lawd, it's been a long day 🤣
I can still feel whatever it is, off and on so I've made Mabel an appointment for Tuesday to have her checked over just to be safe.

Pippins appointment this afternoon was..interesting. I hadn't seen any blood in the cage, nor did she really produce any when her bladder was expressed, although my vet did think he saw a slightly pink drop of urine on her coat. It was decided we would give her max dose gabapentin 3xs a day for 2 weeks, if that didn't work we would reduce to twice a day and put her on cartrophen injections.

Unfortunately when I got home with her, I picked her up out the carrier where she dripped bright red blood down my arm, and was covered in bloody urine, so I called to see what they wanted me to do and decided bringing her straight back was probably best. Luckily her bladder is still fine, likely just irritated from being expressed. She will also get metacam for the next 3 days to help reduce any inflammation going on due to the bleeding.

The new plan is if the gabapentin doesn't work in 2 weeks she will have an ultrasound to see if there's any issues with inflammation going on and go from there. Although if shes still passing blood by the start of next week she will need to go back.

Tilly was painful when peeing this morning so unfortunately expressing her bladder to flush out any sludge isn't the fix we hoped, so she also starts gabapentin.

Ivy is continuing to grow.. bless her heart.

In good news, after Pandas new implant, Oliver has settled down again so I'll take that! It can't all be bad news 😅

And here's a video of Delilah first thing this morning, refusing to wake up because she was having a good dream 🤣 such a funny little thing.

I hope all of your piggies are feeling better soon.

Delilah = 😍

Pippin produced a silent and blood free urine sample today, I'm hoping that was due to lack of pain and not just because she was feeling a bit insecure in the carrier.

Ivy hopped out of her carrier onto my lap and up into my hands while I was cleaning her out 😍 she's so desperate for attention.

Miss Mabel was at the vet today for her lump, he wasn't 100% sure what it is but spoke about Thistle and her deformed chest and thinks it may actually be a deformity in the cartilage, which would make sense, I've said from the beginning that Mabels odd symptoms remind me of Thistle. So for now we're monitoring it in case it grows but he doesn't seem massively concerned about it being a tumour which is great.

Totally unrelated but Ivy's babies were chattering their teeth earlier, the kicking and moving around was adorable, but the teeth grinding was rather unerving! 😅 they seem strong and healthy, good legs on them! How Ivy ever gets any sleep is beyond me, they're very active.

Just to add a bit of fun into my life, Ebony developed explosive, liquid diarrhoea this morning so she had to tag along to the cats appointment. Seems she had a reaction to the cartrophen injection she had Tuesday, hopefully. But if she's no better by Monday or if it spreads to the others we'll be sending a sample off to the lab to test for coccidia.

It's been a long day 🤦‍♀️ I see lots of cleaning in my future.

Poor Ebony. I hope she's alright. Explosive liquid poop is not what you want being flung around first thing in the morning!

Things seem to be firming up a bit but it does contain some blood, shes also completely stopped eating however her weird tooth is chipped, so I'm not sure that's related to her runny bum. She has an appointment in a bit to have that burred flat again and a bit of a check. It's been a long night of syringe feeding 😭

Her prognosis isn't particularly great, we have some buprenorphine to give her over the next few days. She also had her teeth sorted again which luckily has helped her start eating grass again and some thin strips of veggies. She's still passing liquid, but hopefully that turns around once she's eating better. She's a tough girl, fingers crossed this time tomorrow things have firmed up again.

I am so sorry you lost Ebony, sending hugs, nobody could have done more, you are so caring. Rest assured she will have known how much you loved her x

Sleep tight sweet Ebony 🌈
