Eriathwens piggies

Oh good! I was worried it was just wishful thinking. In the nicest way possible.. now Gus isn't leaving large poop balls some mornings, it's staying a lot cleaner. I dont know how she managed but every single time she would stand in it! And of course cleaning it off softens the scab and creates areas bacteria can get in again. I've not had to clean that foot for quite a while now, worse she's managed is getting critical care on there but that's wiped off easily.

It’s looking better from my side. Hope it continues.

Shes driving me crazy, she really is! Every single time it's almost healed she rips off the scab again 🥲

Luckily the wound underneath is most definitely smaller, and the tissue looks very healthy. She still has another week of antibiotics and I'm sure I can get her more if needs be, they pretty much always stick a bit extra in and I need to collect her cartophen injection pretty much as soon as she finishes her course, so I can hopefully pick her up a little more.

Billie is on Baytril since last September and we only took a small brake during last summer, because last year in May the paw was looking so much better that the vet was optimistic that it would finally heal up. Didn't work out this way.
But I hope that Ebony's paw will heal nicely.

Thankyou! I hope Billies is better soon too, so frustrating when it keeps getting better and worse again isn't it.
Her foot was luckily looking much better this morning, maybe next time she knocks the scab off the wound will have healed over underneath completely. Fingers crossed anyway.

So for the last week there's been something off about Delilah, wouldnt be able to tell you what exactly but..something. Tonight she is walking a little awkwardly again, so I've got her straight onto panacur and gabapentin in the hope of getting in before she loses the use of her front legs again, it's been about 4 months since she wasn't able to walk, I'm not sure why it's happening again though. Maybe the thunderstorms stressing her out?

Luckily she's walking almost entirely normally again today, I am going to try to get her an appointment within the next week or so, there's not much they can do about the neurological issues that I'm not already doing, but she has gained some weight, which while not immediately an issue..at almost 6 years old I'd be expecting weight loss, not gains. Having lost her sister Daisy last year to a tumour I want to just make sure she hasn't got anything sinister growing.

Thankyou, me too. With each one that passes I keep thinking about when her turn comes, it's going to absolutely crush me. I know you shouldn't have favourites but she's such a lovely, sweet little thing 🥰 always comes over to give my ankles a shove to let me know I'm in the way 🤣

Shes still a little unsteady but I cleaned them out today so she's currently trying to burrow and mountaineer across hay piles so it's not surprising really 😅

Safe to say Cherry and Pearl had totally different opinions about me picking them up so I could clean! I'm starting to wonder if Pearl is deaf, or just totally indifferent to me at this point..Cherry just has a look of constant concern that I'm going to eat her.

I have loads of Herb Robert in my garden, now I know piggies can eat it, guess what will be on tomorrows menu?

I hope they enjoy it! I'm still not fond of the smell but they seem to like it so I've learned to live with it 😅
