I went supermarket shopping yesterday, hardly anyone had a mask on. As for social distancing, it seems it no longer exists. No wonder the number of infections is still rising here.
One of the social workers I work with has told me that if there's no new restrictions next week, we're going to Tesco. I haven't set foot in a shop that wasn't a garage or a corner shop since 24-hr shopping stopped because I usually would go in overnight. I'm not looking forward to it if I'm honest.
Maybe you need to do it to say you've done it & get it out of the way?
@Lorcan I understand & think you will feel better about it once you've done it. Even if you choose not to go again for a while you will know what to expect.
More doom & gloom from the scientific advisers today. I missed the announcement but have read about it when on the bus. Not sure what to think about it really, is it a true prediction or are they scaremonging?! Obviously cases are going up which is clearly a worry & this will only increase with the return to schools/soon universities etc.
I'm so done with this year!
Just seen this on Facebook him and the first lady apparentlyDid I just hear the news right? 'President' Trump has got the coronavirus?
Or is that fake news or me mis-hearing?
Yes he has the virus, I'm too nice to not hope he will be ok but there's a lesson right there for all his anti-mask anti-lockdown supporters who believe the virus is a left-wing conspiracyDid I just hear the news right? 'President' Trump has got the coronavirus?
Or is that fake news or me mis-hearing?
I've got no sympathy for him. He can only blame himself. Loads of people in the comments sections of every news FB pages don't believe he really got it after all the lies he is spreading. Can't really blame them for all their reactions and lack of sympathy.Did I just hear the news right? 'President' Trump has got the coronavirus?

I vote fake news. The debate went terribly. He can prevent further collateral damage by having a legitimate reason to hide away for a fortnight. He then comes back a hero having beaten the virus that would certainly have killed “sleepy Joe”.Did I just hear the news right? 'President' Trump has got the coronavirus?

That's an interesting take on it!I vote fake news. The debate went terribly. He can prevent further collateral damage by having a legitimate reason to hide away for a fortnight. He then comes back a hero having beaten the virus that would certainly have killed “sleepy Joe”.
Could those face shields help? It’s been flaring my skin up terribly so I got one of these to try with instead.Well, I don't like it, but I've had to give up on wearing masks entirely. I've never been good with things near my face (glasses the only exception after 25 years of them) but I'm in the middle of a horrendous psoriasis flare that I hoped was maybe going to be one or two days. Instead the skin on my chest is inflamed, angry and itched to its last layers, I have what look like scratches on my face around the nose and upper cheekbones (but aren't, peeling skin instead) and my scalp and ears are covered in lesions, cracked skin, and a few open skin patches.
I know it's only for what, a half hour each time? But it's a half hour I had issues with before the flare up, and even if I put one on the itching would mean I'd be constantly touching it to rearrange it anyway. No more masks for memakes going outside about 300x worse now mind you, I swear I feel almost naked.

You can buy visors which are like glasses rather than ones you wear with a strap around your head. They also fit around your own glasses so you can wear both. Also someone I work with has one which clips onto her glasses. I work in retail and see loads of glasses-wearers with these on instead of a mask/strappy visorI don't know, they'd help with the ears problem but because the psoriasis is scalp-wide, I don't know how well the back of the scalp would take to things around it. My hair would probably be protection, but...it's the itching. Like I'm wearing a padded headset right now, which is stopping my ears from any rubbing, but the top of my scalp is still itching like crazy. Without that padding it'd be impossible to wear and I spend most of my time "wearing it" with it around my neck instead atm.
It’s a mess here. The UK is 4 countries. 2, Wales and Scotland have lockdowns. England has a North South divide with different bits having different restrictions. Folk largely haven’t got a clue whether they are doing the right or the wrong thing. It’s not great, it has potential to turn bad, but seems to be doing it much slower than earlier in the year...Is the UK still under lockdown? The news media here always makes it sounds like we are all dying here in the states and everyone else is doing just perfectly fine. I mean they do mention some countries have some virus issues, but not as bad as the US. I know the virus is serious, I've had family that has gotten it and they were very, very ill.
