They are funny aren’t they.Belle used to find balls abandoned to bushes and trees, grab them, and then drop them into the nearest river or lake fully expecting you to fish it back out for her.
Not sure. There’s no limping or any signs of pain. It’s an inability or reluctance to move at all. We can move all his legs and touch his back and he doesn’t flinch. Hopefully it won’t happen again. Is it possible it's hip dysplasia?
I think if you feel there is something wrong then you should pursue it, slightly different but I felt my Bert was unwell but couldn't put my finger on it, it wasn't until he was put under to have his dental work done that they found something. Thanks for that. I do “feel” there’s something wrong. An 18 month old dog shouldn’t behave like this x
Diet is working. He’s lost 200g this week.Chester went to the vets yesterday for a check up. We mentioned that he was having episodes of not walking, possible pain after exercise. They couldn’t find anything but asked us to try and get a video of it next time and book him in for an emergency appointment when it’s happening. So we are still not sure what’s wrong.
Also he has put on a kilo since his neuter. The vet told us that he needs 20% less food after a neuter. Well they could have told me that at the time. . Now he’s on a diet.

It almost sounds a bit like a trapped nerve?
Hope you can get some answers from a specialist.
I'm sorry to hear this, not the news you wanted but at least an explanation.Well the vet called us this evening about Chester’s non walking episodes. They think that he has a neurological condition called spikes disease that is becoming more common in borders. There is no cure for it but a gluten free diet seems to help.
So Chester is going gluten free and we are going to keep a diary of any more episodes for now.
Not the news we were hoping for. Bless him.
