Recently, if baby poggle wakes up overnight he'll go back to sleep within ten minutes for my husband... but with me he'll spend over an hour kicking and biting while feeding rather than sleep :hb:
Oh it's so tough being the mum. I have heard so many times my husband say "I just..." In terms of my daughter and usually, to avoid divorce proceedings reply "that's great that it works for you"

Which brand do you use? Look at the details on the one you have and type those in. I buy mine on Amazon, usually sandisk brand.
Or you can take a picture of the one you have and I can try and see if I find it. Where are you buying from?

I get sandisk too and I've never got one from Amazon yet - usually I've dropped on getting one at pc world/maplin when I've been there for something else. I went straight to Amazon this time and couldn't find one.

The edge one is in my new camera -canon 185 (ultra plus is in old one (canon 95) which no longer properly. I tried to swap them see which works where and got really confused so stopped! Of course, I found a sandisk compatability site, every canon camera on there.... except mine!

From the search I’ve done, it doesn’t appear like your old one is available anymore. When did you buy it? Did you try going back to the same place to see if they still sell it?

I’ve checked and compatibility is Sd, SDHC or SDXC from 4GB-32GB. Did you try formatting the new card via the camera rather than the laptop?

Other alternative is to go with it to curry’s/pc world. Sorry I couldn’t be of much help.

Because your mum!, is the simple answer 🤷🏽‍♀️ children (including babies) know who they can do what with. How old is baby poggle now?

Turned one this month 🙂 He's not really a baby any more I guess - he's got some strong opinions, is increasingly mobile, and we're beginning to get glimpses of some "big feelings" which I'm sure will be great fun when he's a fully-fledged toddler :))

That sounds about right! I can't say I'm at my most receptive when I've been bitten repeatedly in places which Should Not Be Chewed :))

I couldn't find either of them online which is what puzzled me. The ultra one I've had for years and was probably a currys/pc world buy. The edge one came with the camera when I bought it last September so is the one all my photos on my camera have been taken on. Will it show my ignorance if I say I didn't know there was so much choice in them and that the letters/numbers on them actually mean something?! (I understand the gb number but that's it)

I only ever transfer photos across using my sd card reader; just plug in and plug out. I'm so bad at this.

Thank you for trying to help. I appreciate it ☺

I received an email that local shelters are overwhelmed. I can’t do anything, but it doesn’t hurt to look (except for the heart).
I saw a baby guinea pig (9 weeks) that was advertised as a single pet. He “loves human interaction, and will be your best friend. The ad continues on, but is clear that he’s fine as a single pig. It’s also common for shelters to show pigs separately, then mention their bonded mate(s) afterwards in the ad or upon (the one time I called the rescue) inquiring about the pig. Sometimes their friend is pictured elsewhere, sometimes you never see what they look like. Anyway, there were a lot of different ways the shelters and rescues should be more transparent.
The pigs at another rescue have little to no information whatsoever. One trio looks like it has ringworm. It shows one photo of the three, and you have to guess about age and general health.
It all makes me so mad!

The placement of the tear could play to your favor in trying to repair that. It's just over the dinosaur's back, so you might be able to use the pattern to disguise the repair if you hand stitch it.
Or perhaps you could add some trim around the armholes if it won't hide in the pattern?

That's interesting, in this area, pairs usually list their bond in the first or second line of the description or share a listing. The ones that have their friends listed later on are usually groups of young pigs and say something like "would like to go home with one or more of her sisters" ... I think sometimes those pigs will be allowed to be adopted individually (to a new friend), since trios are probably harder to home all together.
I do find that some of the newer animals have very little description, probably because they get them listed as soon as they're vet checked but don't necessarily have the picture and/or description ready, or the description just says something like "we don't know much about this pig because the previous owner told us nothing," and then it might get updated to include what they learn. All the shelters I've looked at have an age approximation.
Of course, I find the descriptions aren't always accurate anyways ... Lexa was described as "likes parsley, doesn't like cilantro, peppers, or pellets" ... doesn't like cilantro was right, but she loves pellets and peppers ... not very keen on parsley ... guess it was better than the cilantro, lol. Latte's shelter thought she could only be held for about a minute and were shocked when I was able to hold her through an entire conversation with them. (I did have to retrieve her from my shoulder initially, but she settled down nicely.) They told me she didn't like her greens ... but that was because she didn't like their greens, which appeared to be what we would call spring mix (frisée, arugula/rocket, baby spinach, red leaf); she loves romaine. Her age was off by several months, too, based on her size, nails, and subsequent growth.

So my much desired dress... It's taken me months with my health and then I caught the front of the armhole in the Overlocker doing the seam 😭 I cried and to be honest... It's probably not salvageable View attachment 225745
That is really frustrating! Could you put in a triangle shape in that spot that goes with the color?

I’m only an afternoon drive from you. The difference in the listings is vast though. As far as north Jersey has similar listing styles. Vet checked? I can’t remember the last shelter (even living in Boston!) that had a vet check the small animals. Only the guinea pig rescues offer vegetables or hay. Our shelters all seem to use the small cages, an igloo to hide and give pellets.
I think I need to travel the east coast, and hoard all the guinea pigs. IMG_1210.gif

I'd have to dig up my other adoption folders, but I know I have the vet check information from Latte's adoption ... I'm pretty sure Lexa came vet checked, too, though, and Roo must have been since she arrived to her shelter on pregnancy watch (and had two pups in foster) before I adopted her.

What's a few hours drive to get a guinea pig? I drove two hours plus traffic to get Lexa, :)) ... fortunately there wasn't much traffic on New Year's day 2021, just a car accident to get around on the way home.

And the washing machine failed again today. Twice, same load, within 45 minutes of the cycle starting. Managed to get it to spin at least so it's not a dead loss but wtf is wrong with the stupid thing.

Used my face moisturiser with spf in yesterday as sun was out. Woke up this morning scratching at my face. Must be some sort of allergy or something. I now look like a tomato, my face feels tight and I'm desperately trying not to scratch it but I really want to just rip it off!

Sorry to hear that.Have you got any vaseline? My face got burnt years ago due to me being an idiot with a face wash which said apply with cotton wool but didn't mention washing it off so I left it on overnight and my face was so sore for days, couldn't even wear makeup and of all the things I tried, vaseline was the only thing that soothed my face.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe try an antihistamine and washing your face with some plain water. Hopefully it eases soon.

I have no antihistahmines but do have vaseline. I will try it on a small piece of skin first. Its calmed down a little bit but have put nothing on it.

Google tells me this is an actual thing and I can get over the counter cream. Looks like I'm looking for a chemist at the seaside tomorrow.

Quoting you again but thank you so much for the vaseline idea. Popped a little bit on last night after showering (that was an experience trying not to wet my face) and it had calmed right down this morning. Think I upset it a little bit by trying to gently wipe off the excess grease/moisture this morning but I have been able to dab a little bit of concealer and loose powder on to hopefully see me through the day. I'm not the vainest person and my skin wil obviously look worse to me but I wanted to try even out the odd bits.

Glad it helped,I normally wouldn't use it as I'm acne prone but I was desperate to get rid of the burning feeling lol.

I have to be careful as too many products overwhelm my skin and that also makes me itch! I've had to wash my face as normal tonight due to seaside day. Its still a bit red and feels tight but I haven't put any kind of moisturiser on yet. I asked in the chemist whilst out and she said I could use antihistamines, swap back to the factor 50 cream and avoid outside (?!) I was more confused once spoken to her so I will ask my local chemist instead.

Because of my medical condition I have to have an annual blood test. The Surgery told me that I have to book this annually. So I phoned the Surgery a few days ago to book it in as I have done for the last few years since moving here 3 and a half years ago. There were no blood tests available for end of June/beginning of July when I phoned so the Receptionist said that they would have a word with the Dr and get back to me. Tonight, the Receptionist phoned me and said that the Dr didn't know why I had requested the blood test. I replied that it was because of my medical condition and that I had one every year. She then asked me if I know what I was tested for! I don't know! I just have a blood test every year. I suggested that she look at my notes for this time last year to find out! Honestly, what is it coming to that the Dr who signs of a repeat prescription every 6 weeks doesn't know that I need a blood test or what it is for?!? You would have thought that if a patient requests an annual blood test, the Dr would read the notes to find out what it is for!

Very similar conversation to one I had last week with receptionist! I got a letter from the Dr to ask me to book my annual blood test, when I phoned to book the receptionist asked why I needed one. This week I had a call to ask me to go and see the Dr. I then had a long conversation about why the Dr would want to see me, she wasn't impressed when I said I don't know I haven't seen him yet. I have to wait three weeks to find out as they have no appointments.
At last years appointment the nurse asked me what they were testing for so she knew what tests she was asking the lab for!
The mind boggles.

Are blood tests less common in the UK? In the US, so long as you have the phlebotomy orders, you can just walk in to pretty much any outpatient lab, no appointment necessary ... works better (results are faster and more accessible) if you go to one in the same network, but most any hospital lab can work. I get blood tests for a few different things, but the most common is checking for iron-deficiency anaemia. I get those multiple times a year ... sometimes there's a discussion; other times a lab slip just shows up in the mail, and I go at the next time that's convenient.
I can look up pretty much all my results in a portal (well, multiple portals - the convenient hospitals for me aren't all in the same network ... they talk, but they may not publish the results that had to transfer between network in a timely manner).
I did confuse one doctor because I had lab orders for two different things that I got done at the same time ... he couldn't figure out why there were so many tests, until I explained that some weren't ones he'd requested.

As far as I know all our tests have to be requested by and sent off to a lab by a GP or hospital Dr if you are attending clinics. Ours surgery nurses don't even dip stick urine any more, it has to be sent off for testing.

A goblin has soft poops again. Well. Very wet poops, but not sludgy. You all know what I mean. I'm thinking it's the watercress, which is my own fault because it's like I forget this every time I have watercress in the fridge. :hb: thankfully it doesn't seem to be annoying either of them (except for the suspicious lack of veg they've got, woe betide me) but I feel like an idiot.

I’m awake. I’m never awake at this time. I go to bed at 9pm. But today my dog Chester got castrated and he won’t lay down with the plastic post-op collar on. So I’ve got to stay awake to make sure he doesn’t lick his wounds. 🤦🏻‍♀️.
