Not a rant but I didn't know where to post it.I'm going to the cemetery on new year's eve to put flowers on my granny's grave,she passed away last year on new year's eve and I'm gonna take some flowers to my grandma's grave and my dad's grave too.I'm just feeling a bit upset cos I'm thinking of them all.I never go to my dad's grave as I always cry when I see his grave but this year I wanted to try and put flowers at all the graves.

It’s very tough thinking about our loved ones that are no longer here especially as we start a new year
You carry your Granny,Grandma and especially your Dad in your heart and they are with you always

So who leaves an entire years worth of photos (both phone and camera) until the last day of the year to back up and sort out... that would be me!

Who can't do a phone update because of having no space on it and now needs to get a memory card for phone to have lots of room... also me!

After having the whole afternoon sorting my camera photos out, who is leaving the phone photos to do until next year... me! 🤣
 
Fireworks…. We have binge watched Gavin & Stacey, I have had a sofa nap. Wally’s complained about the lone fireworks that have already gone off.
Washing machines on ready to spin at midnight… timed for any fireworks.
I just want to go to bed. 😴

I've dropped off to sleep twice! The fireworks are very loud here and are going off right outside the house. The older piggies don't take any notice but Fizz and Fuzz are hiding as far back in their houses as they can get. My OH is chatting to them about anything and everything!
 
Everytime I open Whatsapp or the gallery on my phone, it tells me there isn't any storage space. Why does technology hate me? I've not even had this one for 18 months! I only have 6000 photos & videos!

How much storage does the phone have to start with? My 2 year old android has a nominal 64gb, but 40 of it is taken up with system files and apps. My 4000ish photos and videos take up about 6gb - quite a lot are old photos that have been transferred from previous phones, and then there's the pics from WhatsApp threads - I don't know if they will disappear from the threads if I delete them from my Gallery though.

They'll still be there. Your phone downloads them from WhatsApp, you might have to tap them again to see them (which, incidentally, probably means they get downloaded again) but you won't lose them.

(or at least I never have)

It has 64gb internal storage. There's a sort of even split with just over 30gb software and just under 30gb images & videos. Lots of them I can delete as they are all backed up now but I still like to have my favourite ones on there. It's just gonna take me a few days to sort through them all and organise them on my external hardrive as I stupidly backed up a years worth at a time. I wanted to send my laptop for repair and can't do that if phone not sorted. I've seen a 250gb memory card, that should be plenty for photos / videos. Then I can keep on top of backing up/deleting them.
 
So in the technology related never ending saga of my life... I've spent the majority of the day sorting & deleting things off my phone (photos/videos etc). When I started on Weds, phone system was taking up 31.38gb & today after deleting 5gb of photos/ videos, it takes up 39gb. How and why has it expanded without me doing anything to it. What a waste of a day, still have no internal memory but got rid of half my photos and videos and there was no point.

When you delete photos/videos from your phone, make sure to check the recycle bin because it stays there for 30 days if you have android (not sure with iphones). You need to delete them from the recycle bin too.
 
My OH is always complaining that our hoover is cr*p. I tell him that it works fine for me.

He
  1. Never empties it
  2. Never checks the filters are blocked
  3. Never cleans the blocked filters
  4. Never checks that the bit at the bottom that whizzes around that picks up the dirt (don't know what it's called) isn't blocked
  5. Never checks that its not on the "hard floor" setting when it should be on the "carpet" setting.
  6. Never checks for blockages in the pipes.
If he did all of these things it would work properly. He's just done the hoovering now and put the hoover back in the cupboard. He didn't empty it and it was full (again)!

I'm fed up of telling him to empty it at the end of each hoovering session and he's fed up of me telling him. I tell him he has to maintain it in order for it to work efficiently. He puts the cars in for a service and fills them with fuel, checks the oil and the washer fluid. If he didn't maintain the cars would they be cr*p too because they didn't work?

The first time they did it, I thought it was because of the change in delivery time, as was the second because they happened in the middle of adjusting an order. I didn't find out til the third time because there was no notice of why.

Screw you, Tesco. Maybe next time try telling me the first time round and we can all save ourselves some trouble. I just wanted something to eat, you jerks.

Update to this, Asda are due this evening! And all they're missing is a bag of midget gems and they've subbed a triple pack of jaffa cakes for a twin pack. I suspect I can live with that.
 
Yeah, that name is a little politically incorrect, lol.

I eat a fruit snack covered in dry yogurt, it has probiotics. It's kinda a healthy version of a fruit snack but I just love them.
 
If they'd managed to come up with a different name I'd find it easier, but mini and midget are too similar in my head. Even micro would be better, lol. Like when they changed Opal Fruits to Starburst - at least you're not going to mangle the two into one in your head right?

Unrelated but I feel so bad for my neighbours right now, the baby is angry and does not want to do anything bar scream.
 
Why do washing liquid companies insist on adding perfume? I normally get Lidl's own brand of non-bio washing liquid for the piggies stuff. I ran out and couldn't get to Lildl's so bought some Persil non-bio instead. I can't stand the smell. It is so strong that my throat was closing up and my nose was twitching. I have had to open the windows upstairs where the stuff is drying as well as the front door and the back door. I don't care that it's only about 4 degrees outside. The need to breathe comes before whether the house is cold or not. I think I'm gonna have to wash it all again in just plain water and hope that it gets rid of the smell!
