The ulcers keep coming back. I wonder if it's because Jynx seems to be leaking tiny amounts of urine so her genitals are frequently wet. Before I spend another £80 minimum on a vet trip to probably be told to keep up with the antiseptic wipes twice a day, has anyone had any experience of this? She had chronic cystitis (which could've been related to gynaecological issues) earlier this year before her spay. Can this weaken the bladder? She also passed some nasty sludge, so could that have had an impact? Jynx is otherwise her happy contented self, so it's frustrating that I can't seem to get this under control. Thanks!
She was on antibiotics when it initially appeared and that helped to clear it up, but it was to fight the infection rather than stop the ulcers reoccurring. Back to the vet we go then!Hi
I am ever so sorry. I do not have the medical schooling to answer your questions nor have we seen a lot of coincidences of urinary tract issues and ovarian cysts on here.
Unfortunately, the wipes don't seem to be as effective as you want them to be. Maybe an antibiotic will do the trick even if it not yours and your vet's first choice?

We saw the vet today. It may be that the infection just hasn't gone away, so she's back on the same antibiotics for 7 days along with Loxicom. The vet has taken a culture swab to check whether we need to change the antibiotics; we should get the results back in a week.
So, I'm down another £230. Bring on pay day!
She’s such a little trooper. Beautiful girlie! She's a happy piggy! She doesn't even mind the meds - only when I poke her bum with the antiseptic wipe.

Ohhhhh, I asked for more Metacam too as I've run out; that's the name of the med on the notification that it's been dispensed. I'll confirm the antibiotic when I've collected it!I've googled arthrocam and it is just another brand name for metacam (active ingredient meloxicam)? It is available in the UK both in cats and dog strength since this year.

We had issues with this AB. Completely loss of appetite and soft poops. Just something to watch out for.The antibiotic/brand is Quiflor. She's on one 5mg tablet a day for 10 days.
