The Ever Beautiful Betsy has lost weight

Thinking of Evie and Milo today, we’ll done Betsy x
The vet is unsure what is wrong with Milo. His bladder was full of very dilute urine (no blood or obvious signs of infection in the sample) and slightly painful. This could be a sign of kidney or liver problems but can also be caused by stress (car journey and vet visit). He is booked in tomorrow for sedation so that they can do blood tests and an ultrasound. So fingers crossed that it is isn't anything serious.

I am sorry that Milo has hijacked Betsy's thread I will start a separate one for him.

All the best for Milo.

Good girl Betsy, keep munching away 😍

Sending lots of hugs and good luck wishes to you and lovely Milo for tomorrow xx

Evie is also booked in for Monday with our exotics vet. She’s also lost some weight and was definitely “off” last night. She’s an older lady - she was thought to be about 2 when she was surrendered and I’ve had her 2 1/2 years. I’m suspecting some sort of pain issue.
Good luck to Milo on Monday x
How did Evie's visit to the vet go today? Hope that she is OK.

Come on girl! U r getting there! Keep chomping! Sending healing vibes to all the other poor, sick piggies in the forum. U guys can do this! ❤️❤️❤️

I've had to Betsy back to the vets this afternoon (yes I did brave Storm Eunice - Betsy is far too important not to!) as she was very quiet this morning and didn't ask for her Metacam or breakfast and she'd lost quite a bit of weight again. She had a damp and smelly bum and sausage link poops although she was still eating her eaty poops which means the internal conveyor belt is still working.

The vet gave Betsy a very thorough examination. She (Betsy) is clearly in pain somewhere in tummy/bladder region as she was very vocal. Vet gave her an ultrasound to see if pain was in bladder but doesn't appear to be. Gut sounds good but slower than they should be. Vet gave Betsy a Buprenorphine injection for the pain and a Metaclopramide injection to try and get her gut working as it should. We have come home with more Metaclopramide to start tomorrow and Sulfatrim to kill off any UTI before it gets any worse in case she has a UTI. Vet said that Betsy must be in considerable pain as she was uncomfortable even with the Metacam. We also discussed me leaving Betsy at the vets for the day undergoing tests and x rays. I turned this down because Betsy is too old to be stressed out like that.

The vet did say that Betsy was a good age (she's 6)and if I thought that her quality of life wasn't that good anymore it could be Rainbow Bridge time. I said that it wasn't time yet because until yesterday she'd been a happy girl.

Sending lots of healing vibes to Betsy and a hug to you, hope she pulls through. You did right, Betsy at her age does not need the extra stress of a day at the vets x

Hope you feel better soon Ever Beautiful Betsy. Sending healing vibes from me and the boys. ❤️
