The Ever Beautiful Betsy has lost weight

Sounds like you're taking excellent care of Betsy. Glad she's finding a paw to hold with Meg.

Weighed Betsy this morning and she has put on 50g in a week. I didn't give her a supplementary feed last night or in the middle of the night either. She hasn't really wanted any extra support feeding for the last couple of days. Her meds ended today. I only hope that she can keep the weight on and not have another relapse as she has absolutely no reserves left and will not survive.

I hope Betsy continues to improve, and not have any relapses.with your very observant care you will pick up on changes promptly. 🤗

Betsy enjoy all your happy days. I hope there are many more to come. 😍

Fingers crossed that you have many more happy todays with Betsy. Hugs

Keep on munching, Betsy!
But 50g more in one week is a great success. We all know how quickly they loose weight and how long (if ever) it can take to increase in weight again.

She's lost the 50g overnight and doesn't want any Recovery food.:( She's still a happy girl and was up at the bars asking for her Metacam fix this morning.

Aww Betsy. You can do it. Eat lot’s of that yummy hay please.

Our gentle giant, Coco, has lost a lot of weight. He still looks huge, until you pick him up and feel how lean he is. He saw Simon last week and checked out well, apart from the tremendous weight loss and he’s had a few bloat episodes. He’s currently on Emeprid, twice a day and Fibreplex three times a day and weight is slowly increasing.

I know Betsy has had a UTI. Has the vet had a feel for a urethral stone? I’ve had female piggies lose weight, without any other symptoms and Simon has found a urethral stone, popped it out and the weight has gone back on steadily

Last time Betsy was at vets she had a bladder scan as the vet thought she may have a stone somewhere and nothing was found. Then Betsy did a massive wee on the examination table and it was nice and clear with no sludge or bits in.

I hope the beautiful Betsy is continuing to improve. My boys and I are sending lots of love 🤞💕
Hope that our beloved Betsy is still doing well.
Thanks for thinking of my Beautiful Betsy!

She is still low in weight but chomping on everything in smell. (she's as blind as a bat so "sight" isn't really an appropriate word!) Ever since Cutey Pie Dennis toddled of to The Rainbow Bridge, occasionally she needs to be shown where the food is (Dennis was her guide piggie) if its in a bowl and she can't smell it. She's happy in herself and is very vocal! I was really very worried about her 2 weeks ago but I think my prompt action in getting her to the vet as soon as I noticed something was amiss saved her. Everybody knows their piggies and pick up on subtle signs.
