The Beastie Boys

Sir George's fur has changed. It's like he's had a deep conditioning treatment. He's much shinier and silky feeling, not that his fur was rough or dull, but I could always feel and see a big difference between his and Master Boris's. Is it because he's getting older? Is it a possible effect of the pellets, he's still hooveringthem all up after two months. (@Guineautopia ? I'm aware that's any comment you make is not scientifically supported so you have to be careful, I'm just curious whether anyone else has noticed the same?)
Oh that's interesting, it could well be.

I've recently been feeding Ziggy a small amount of pellets to keep his weight up. He wasn't too keen on the new pellets from piggie parcels but I'm mixing them with his old pellets and slowly increasing the proportion of the new pellets. He's eating everything now so I'm hoping we can switch fully soon. I'll be interested to see if I notice any changes. He's 4 and a bit.

Mine seem to moult all year too. Even though they're short haired they enjoy a good brushing at least once a week, Sir George especially as his fur is very thick. Brushing him is guaranteed to get a full four legs out sploot!
He was a very cuddly boy at lap time today and I even got several kisses ❤️

It doesn't 😩

And I've tried similar brushes and they hate them. They've made it quite clear I'm not to touch their tatty butts like that.

On the other paw, Gaia does like getting her rump (lightly) slapped. You know how bigger dogs like getting firm pats and it sounds like you're beating a rug? Gaia likes those. She gets all fruity and starts posing and presenting her butt to me. (Pro-tip for Master Boris...)

Chez has been giving kisses, too. But he hates being touched still. He'll let me stroke his cheek briefly then popcorn. But he's too fidgety for it to last long.
Don't forget that my boys are older, he will chill out eventually.
🥰 Master Boris has the cutest bootie in showbusiness ❤️ Go on, show the picture of him up on two legs. Gaia will be charmed to mellow mind 💘
It would take more than than to mellow Gaia....maybe she should spend some time looking at Boars Galore ....🍒🤣IMG_20231104_234647.webp

That’s amazing 😍 the pellets do contain ingredients for hair and skin health and I have had others comments on improvements which is lovely ❤️

@Guineautopia , when I reorder soon I will do another review. Do you still have those pumpkin cookies, I couldn't see them on your site?
I don’t think have any pumpkin ones left ( they were made for Halloween) but I do have a new batch of the green spinach cookies now 👍🏻

Lots of monster poo today. At the risk of sounding like a bit of an idiot, is this something I need to worry about?

I'm not an expert but my boys have varying size poop from time to time. I've just put it down to subtle changes in diet. I'd be more worried if the size was going the other way.
They can get huge poop after stasis when things start moving again but he's not been ill. I'd just keep an eye on him which you do anyway. Brillo's poop has gone really small as he's got older but there's loads of it. Last time he had his 6 month vet check the vet had a look and said as it's perfect shape and consistency and lots of it it was fine just his new normal!

Nuggets poop after stasis, the first and second bit were joined, it broke apart! Third bit a normal sized one from someone else for size comparison!

My boys’ poop can change in size too - Tofu’s have got smaller with age, Patches’ have got bigger as he’s settled in with us and varied his diet. Any dietary changes or stress that might be behind it? I’m not an expert, but if there’s no other symptoms I wouldn’t worry too much (other than having to clean it up 😂)

Your boys are gorgeous as always!

Oh, poor Sir George and poor you and Daddy Slave. It's quite scary when they aren't well. Squeaky wees must be awful 😞 I hope he gets better soon, he is such a sweet, loving piggy ❤️ From my own bladder issues (and I don't know if if applies to guinea pigs) foods with polyphenols seem to help, yellow veg, but the vet will know best what is best for guinea pigs.
