The Beastie Boys

Wow! What did you ever do to him? Sneeze on his grass?
He is a werepig in disguise & has to maintain a certain persona!
I currently spend some time everyday tailing Wally for fresh poo- to make our Hamish poo soup. So yes, nether of our boys are best pleased with me at the moment. I am on the receiving end of wees, nips and many other atrocities!

Am surprised Miss Bramble isn't here, having a word with you. Then again, she seems to be having an off week; I don't recall her throwing the Cup of Disgrace at me for not expecting the girls to get caught in a sudden downpour in the garden. 😆

Miss Bramble is bracing herself for her bikini bod hair cut which is happening either today or tomorrow so she has other things to worry about atm. As far as she is concerned you did have the Cup of Disgrace awarded back to you.

Well we had an attempt at putting them back together. Sir George was giving out friendly signals but Master Boris was showing lots of fear aggression and lunging.
It seems like Master Boris had a fright when Sir George put him back in place. Sir George however is acting like "what's the problem?" I stopped the bonding session, probably prematurely, because I couldn't bear to see my little boy looking so afraid.
They are ok as neighbours except for the initial confusion about where the rest of the cage had gone. Both had crashed into the dividers and Sir George was seen posting some extra yummy bits of hay with seed heads on over to Master Boris's side ❤️
I suppose I'm hoping that Master Boris will calm down and realise that Sir George is not out to get him.

You call Master Boris a delinquent and in reality he's a timid, soft, little jellybean. :c

Hopefully Sir George is right and snacks will solve everything. Minerva often gives Gaia food as well... only because Gaia is too lazy to get it herself, mind.

How did the mani-pedi go? And are the boys getting along any better?

All good, no hay pokes occured en route this time. There were two student vets there who were very impressed with the boys good manners. Sir George got his first ever quick cut but apart from a little flinch he didn't react. The vet nurse was delighted to be able to show them their first look at a satin too.
Later on at lap time both boys were on me for a few minutes. Sir George on my lap and Master Boris as usual made his way up to lay on my bosoms. He didn't react to Sir George, no teeth chattering, raised hackles or squealing when they were close together. Progress I think but we will give them a while longer as bar buddies before trying another bonding session.

Master Boris is now initiating contact through the bars. Both boys are quite subdued and I'm going to keep checking Sir Georges weight as he's not showing his usual appetite. It's more than likely that he isn't feeling the need to eat as fast because Master Boris is an absolute hoover with their veggies.
All opinions and advice welcome.

It's quite ironic that Sir George is the chunky one but Master Boris is an absolute gutbucket with a much slimmer build!
I have the same problem with my partner. It's not fair, he can eat anything and stay slim.

I forgot to say the interest at the bars maybe worrying where the other one is, making sure he's still there and not able to get at me rather than wanting to be together.

My two boys had to be separated and the dominant one is constantly at the bars looking to see where the underpig is. When the underpig is having lap time the boss starts wheeking because the underpig is away from the cage.

Can't live together, can't bear to be apart!

Billy used to always check for Hamish, he had to constantly know where Hamish was.
I think it was slightly due to Billy’s background.

Wally is less needy, and just goes about his business, with some bar chewing thrown in, for good measure.
Hamish is relaxed and has grown used to the divide- he loves to sleep next to it- and often looks like he’s taunting his neighbour as if to say “you can’t get me!”
Our boys quite often touch noses and rumble at each other through the grids.

We treat Hamish as boss pig, but in reality it’s probably Wally, but Hamish is our oldest resident and doesn’t cope well when we do everything for his neighbour first.

Good luck. I hope your boys settle & perhaps even decide they would like to be friends again.

I hope Sir George perks up soon, and stops worrying you.

Sir George is the top pig and Master Boris is seeking his company. They are touching noses through the divider, no rumbling, chattering teeth or raised hackles

Mine touch noses too, but the top pig rumbles a lot. He patrols up and down the divider all the time. The underpig ignores him mostly but does do some submission squealing.

Red and Brillo are like that too, they can't bear to not know where the other one is. It's like they didn't mean to fall out but afterwards they didn't trust each other if there was no barrier. I've tried to rebond them several times over the years but they instantly get their hackles up and start lunging. Silly boys!

Dear Hamish,
I will definitely behave myself. The last time the slaves put us together I was very nice. Every time Master Boris started chattering his teeth at me I backed off. I even had several grooming sessions near him. I didn't really try to hump him, I just wanted to rumblestrut but he kept getting very upset and sort of rumblestrutting at me. Eventually when he kept lunging at me and chattering his teeth I did feel the need to chase him.
Hopefully he will be calmer this time as we have been chatting through the bars and I have been sharing food by posting some through to him. The Slaves say he has stopped having smelly days and think his hormone spike (I don't know what that is) has settled.
Paws crossed,
Rumbles,
Dignified Sir George

It looks promising so far. Master Boris had a bit of a moment, Sir George rumbled at him then walked away. He started to follow while chattering his teeth but stopped, snorted and had a grooming session instead. He's no longer seeming scared to approach Sir George and they have been side by side several times.

Oh excellent! Everything crossed they get back together happily!
