Stripe and Chesney

We're just chutting along before cage cleaning and health checks this morning. We will get weighed and mom thinks I look rounder than last week.

We love having our cages cleaned and skip our morning nap every cage cleaning day. We'll see how Chez does with his health check. He's usually pretty naughty. I'm easy.

I'm zooming a little and mom is singing a nasty song to the cat, "fartin' around to the beat of a drum."

Yesterday 9 weeks off antibiotics.

Ugh, I'm on vacuum and mop duty at work today. It can't be worse than yesterday, alphabetizing fiction. Can't wait till we just open. But in the old store we had head sets where if we couldn't find a book we'd just ask the other booksellers if they'd seen it on the head set it was really helpful and now I'm learning we might not have head sets!

Stripe wasn't sure he wanted to get up at 5. Chez was begging, but yawning.

The boys are chattering their teeth because I'm not providing cookies..

Hope the new job is going well

Chez brought his willow ball into his house and is whipping it around against the walls and it's loud.

Stripe is totally ignoring his forage and I just ordered a new bag for ten bucks. Oh good, he just started eating it.

My boys actually like commercial toys.

The boys are reluctantly eating their Belgian endive, which I paid $7.28 a pound for. They're like ew yuck and begging for something different, then when they don't get a different lettuce they take a couple bites. It used to be Stripe's favorite.

Butterfly exhibit was cool, they keep these mini little quail, they are all male so no over population. One little brat of a child was chasing a quail.

I gotta go get their pepper. They are not happy with this lettuce.

Mommy slave bought a load of Romaine but it's not as light green and tender as it was a while ago so it gets turned into rug on the wood shavings or a bed sheet. We have been eating iceberg lettuce, but my poops are small and fewer in number 🙁. I'm eating hay and pellets though. Perhaps my teeth need attention. My front teeth are OK. Truffle eats a lot more than I do 🥬🫘

Oh no! I hope your teeth are ok. I would hate to see you go to the dentist. Can you eat some critical care? How is your weight?

My weight is stable, but mommy slave is going to weigh me every day. She has a big scratch on her hand and is expecting a few more (but she still loves me) (and can wear a glove on at least one hand) She says she is going to put gloves on my kickers, but she's joking (I hope). I would like to try out some Critical Care and so would Truffle, that is a good idea 🙏

The boys are ignoring their banana! Stripe ran away from his! So much for a special treat.

Hello Truffolo is it worth trying some readigrass ? My two love it and it’s good for adding weight
Just to mention Truffolo iceberg lettuce is a no no for piggies - it has no nutritional value and cos it has a lot of water it can cause soft poops or even diarrhoea 😢

Thanks for the slave training 😄 MS is going to eat the watery lettuce to finish it and we are getting healthier cucumber and coriander. Is little gem lettuce OK? There is a shortage of Romaine around here 🙁
Mommy Slave went looking for green oat hay at P@H but it was out of stock. The Readigrass sounds nice though. We are on Nature's Own meadow hay and sometimes get sweet green hay or green oat hay from them. Their hay is the best.

MS forgot to pick grass today 🙄 We are too kind to send her out in the dark but think she could sprout a few small dishes around the flat 🥬🌱

Oops, sorry Ramia, I forgot we aren't on the survivors' thread and have been getting carried away (but got good advice)

Yes any lettuce apart from iceberg
I’ve just discovered Unbeleafable bagged lettuce which is pesticide free and lasts for 6 days and is grown in the UK - I love it and the piggies do 🥰
Tesco and Sainsbury’s sell it

It might seem expensive but I found the ‘ flown in ‘ lettuce doesn’t last and I was throwing so much away

Chez goes down for a morning nap at around 8. He usually comes out to beg (he sleeps under the fleece) but today I came in the room and he just peaked his nose out of the fleece for his cookie. Room service!

I got my ticket to France!

Stripe doesn't go down for his nap till 9.

In about a half hour I'm heading to the ribbon cutting then I will see you all at the zoom meeting!

Stripe enjoys his veg, he no longer has to watch Chez eat his with longing.

I have to clean cages early today because I have an appointment. Weight and health check today.

As some of you saw, we had a tornado warning last night. We get alerts on our phone and my neighbor called to make sure I had a basement. The siren went off for about 45 minutes, then the tornado passed. I'm not sure how close it got to my town. Spring is storm season here. Luckily I didn't lose electricity.

But... the boys are fine.

They would have to be in their carriers
It's a bit of a worry, having to catch guinea pigs if there is a fire or other emergency and they are very skittish. It's a time you don't want them to get out of your grip while you are loading them into their carriers. I have my piggy carriers always at hand. My building has good fire escapes though 🚒

Stripe is very cute tucking in happily ❤️

Stripe let out a huge fart. All is fine, he's just uncouth.

The boys each got a toilet paper roll, they play with them a little.

A new forum member put some links to a US based small animal product company and I'm going to order the prevention support tablets. For urinary, joint, and a couple other things that they help.

The boys have nail trims in a couple weeks and in June they are having their yearly checkup with a new vet and it's only five minutes from my house. Better than the forty minutes I usually drive. We'll see how much they know about guineas.

Truffle makes little tuneful farts (not me of course) in his sleep (again not me).
MS got nips from both of us last nail trimming. We both love being groomed with the little metal comb and have started putting up our heads for strokes, soft eh?

Mom got called into work early yesterday.

We have toilet paper rolls, but honestly, I'm not interested. I prefer toys that cost 5.99. Chez uses his.

Today I knocked over my hut, crawled under and in, and couldn't get out.

Yes! We get clean cages at 10 am and no health check.

Mom says we broke the vacuum. Huh? She's the one who vacuumed the hay! She has to drive all the way into town to have it repaired today.
