Stripe and Chesney

Mom cut our toilet paper rolls length wise, but I got stuck in mine. I was wearing it as a hat and still munching hay. After the initial laughter, she was going to help me but I walked by my hut and it slid off. I don't see that as a laughing matter!

She has an extra long shift today but will get 3 breaks.

Our new hay lasts 2.5 weeks, so mom is saving $30 a month.

I'm actually thinking of getting Stripe a c&c to save money on bedding.

I could set it up the day before I pick them up from boarding, I'm doing a deep cleaning of their room that day.

I spend over $50 on bedding a month.
That makes a lot of sense. Fleece bedding is fun to accessorize and lasts for years. Less messy than shavings 🏡

I just ordered it! I got purple fleece with little guinea pigs on it. The cost will set me back maybe a month, but I'm expecting a $170 refund from the state of Michigan for taxes.

I figured the lilac color would show blood in the urine and be cute.

I'll just need to get another laundry rack so I can dry both at the same time.

I think Stripe is going to love it. I'll recoup my costs in three months.

Sensible and fun ❤️ Can't wait to see the beautiful pictures. Stripe will be very proud to show off his decor 🥰🏡 I'm tempted. I've got a horse bag but I'm still a bit nervous as I share an elderly washing machine and can't clean the filter every month.

I think the boys are happy to see me today. I had to leave them for a very long shift yesterday and in the night.

They are not going down for their morning nap.

Chez let me stroke his cheek for the first time!

Currently wheeking and popcorning. Can't wait for my new cage. Mom thinks it would be easier to set it up the day we go to boarding so she can vacuum, assemble the cage with zip ties and have some time to do it all.

She's going to clean our cages in two hours and give our health checks.

You know what? She spent too much money yesterday. A sandwich for 8.99, a large smoothie, cat food and toys for us. Now no treats for a while.

She's going to go drink her protein powder and get dressed now.

You should have seen me zooming and popcorning this morning. I actually got a slice of cucumber! Maybe I'll be up to a full serving by the time I go to boarding. Currently munching my pellets.

Mom got some Turkish munchies in the mail including another Dubai pistachio bar. So far she's had a puffy chicken flavor stick, a chocolate covered marshmallow, and some wafers. She likes trying new things.

Can't wait for my new cage, it'll be a little bigger and the fleece will be so cozy.

Mom has some major cleaning to do before vacation. She's kinda messy.

Well done Stripe 🥒 🍿 You and Mom are clearly enjoying the good things in life 🍫☕

Actually the cage arrives in a week and the fleece should arrive in two weeks (they sew each order)

I'm thinking of setting it up before my vacation, but Stripe will have to be in his carrier while I vacuum and assemble it, up to 40 minutes I'm estimating.

It would be nice for him.

I think I can get Stripe up to a full serving of veggies by the time he goes into boarding!

He's at 2 slices of big cucumber so each boy can have half a baby cucumber, that way it won't be confusing for the staff.

He's up to one big romaine leaf, just a slightly smaller serving of pepper than Chez, and two slices of cucumber. He can tolerate parsley as well.

Yay poo soup!

Does anyone else have very bossy pets? The cat taps my face till I pet him and won't stop even if I'm trying to sleep. The boys bite the bars vigorously until they get their romaine. They're just plain rude!

I have to clean cages, pick up the repaired vacuum, grocery shop, and fry some halloumi today. It's a health check day for the boys.

Truffle starts crying, Polo stares and has been known to teeth chatter. The Wizard trick is to do a high speed corner and kick a spray of bedding over the side of the cage into a pile on the floor, especially just after cleaning and sweeping are complete 😄

Lovely Lexi 🌈 would teeth chatter if I was late with veggie dindins in the afternoon or supper in the evening. Shy Little Meg 🌈 would stand with her feet on the mesh of the hutch and I would have to open the hutch door just a bit and close it again several times before she would stand down and I could open the hutch to give them some food. Before we moved house Shy Little Meg would also raise the alarm (she had a REALLY loud wheak whenever she heard the patio door opening) as she was ever hopeful food would arrive. After we lost Velvet (her Mum and Mentor) she never wheaked again.

I'm really enjoying the boys this morning. I said a little prayer they wouldn't ask for cookies, so far so good. They are distracted by their veggie breakfast, pellets for Stripe and forage for Chez.

Last day off, let's make it a good one. One appointment, gotta clean the house and the vacuum is back. Repairman said clogged with hay.

I know the month before my vacation to France will go fast.
