Piggie looks like she has mumps Do i need to PANIC.

She's very quiet but looking at her chin the poor lass has had a hell of a op. Been told to give her 0.2 sulfatrim 0.12cispride 0.4 metacam (metacam) mornings only.
Can I do this and syringe feed at same time. Poor love but I was pls she ate a little.

Yes, Dave. I would prepare a pot of syringe feed and her meds, I would get her out and comfy and give her the meds and a syringe feed at the same time ie in the one sitting.

Dave Bill and Ted were prescribed Dog Metacam 0.4 mls twice a day after there ops. so if she isn’t eating much you could ask the vet if you can increase the dose and give her it twice a day. Glad she’s out of the woods now, I agree, give syringe feed a little and often till she’s back on form

I syringe fed Betsy until she refused it. Then I knew she was eating properly. Weigh florence every day for a couple of weeks. Her weight will stabilise after her op. Don't worry if it is a bit up and down to begin with. Also bear in mind that it may be a bit lower to what you are used to because the weight of the tumour is no longer there.

You are right her weight is well down 145
She's 1058 I thought she was big but that tumor was huge. Horrible nasty thing.

Glad to see Florence is making progress. You are doing an amazing job looking after her. 💕
Fab news that she is up and about and eating this morning David.
And remember some of the weight loss will actually be the tumor itself.
She's very sleepy and course I'm very impatient. Does not help.
Dopy Slave

Hi all. Long day and I've not fully slept for 36 hours.
Florence is more alert and will munch leaves when I'm not around.
She had all meds and little extra metcalm.
She freezes at any noise as I'm guessing this is her 1st major illness. . I'm less worried than 24 hours ago.
But my Lord you who say your piggie is fine after a op are rewarded .
I'm allowed to give meds as lass is so knocked out.
I'd give me home up for a squeak. x

You must be exhausted, it's so tiring and then being tired makes you more emotional....but she is eating which is most important. It's a slow road and can make you feel so lonely. But we are all behind you and Florence. Keep going and you will get a squeak soon!

It’s a hard time for you Dave, but the worst is over now. When Bill had his mammary tumour removed Last October he was as right as rain, even though we didn’t get back to Cornwall until midnight the day of his op due to road works and diversions. By contrast we brought Ted home, a mere 12 mile journey, Ted was very drowsy and wheezing for a full 24 hours last month. They do all react differently but she’s doing all the right things and so are you x

That's a wonderful thing to say.
Thank you. X

I be honest last night at 1am I looked for emergency help as she was curled up and I've read on here that she was shutting down.. . I've lost Cocoa. Chloe. Heidi. Last 12 months and i couldn't lose Florence. I told her I loved her every 2 mins

She would have heard that Dave and it will have brought her back if indeed she was shutting down. Hearing is the last sense to go.

JOY GUYS LOOK. TEARS OFF SLAVE.

You know what this means wow. Eh.

I got up at 6 and she gave a little squeak . . Music to me ears.
Had a brew massive fight at 8 because no way would the little "monkey" take her meds. I mean I tried and got about 75% in
Then put a wiggle piggie back
