I hope that Florence is now back home with you. The waiting is the worst x
Those more wise and piggie savy had a idea and well. .
Not a abscess but a tumor .. which has been removed.
I'm trying to be sensible and remember what vet said etc
. Florence is home and very groggy and taken to a tunnel to sleep which I'm guessing is ok. Op was late afternoon and i was shown the mass horrible soild lump which is to be sent for testing and well guys I'm praying that the God of Piggies gives me some slack.
Sheryl said she "shelled" the tumor out when as she expected it was not a abscess . . It was not attatched or round anything and came out good if you know what I mean. . except small blood supply. Size of a golf ball.
Got meds to read and give but I'm leaving her to rest she's well popped.
I'm very sad but I will not let this latest setback stop me giving piggies the love and life I'm best capable off as you guys do yours

Got to give her some Cisapride later but she's fast asleep now bless. XShe'll be sleepy for a while David, it's quite normal. Sending Florence healing vibes and I am hoping she will make a speedy recovery. It sounds like your vet knew what she was doing. X
Thank you will read the thread. Mrs Dougal being a nurse.Glad that she has come through her op and that the tumor was still encapsulated.
Fingers very firmly crossed for a good recovery.
She is likely going to be somewhat groggy for the next few hours.
Tips For Post-operative Care
This is bit new to me. Had a piggie op before but he was up and about when got home. . . Not sure tho how long that was.Oh Dave it sounds like things went as well as possible given what it was.
Remember that it was good they got the whole tumor out and that it wasn't tangled up in other things.
It is good it is gone now too.
I know she will thrive with your loving and capable care.
Just like people, all piggies are different,, and it also depends on how long the op was. This is bit new to me. Had a piggie op before but he was up and about when got home. . . Not sure tho how long that was.
Yes was late op 4 onwards. She's was moving a little on way home and got a nose rub off me.Glad it went safely and she is back home. If she had the op late afternoon the anaesthetic has to work it’s way out of her system, so she will be groggy. You might need to give her a syringe feed at bedtime
I've not seen her scar or stitches . . When I put her back home she wobbled to a house and is dreamingOh Florence ... all the best little one, have a nice sleep and some nice dinner xx
I imagine its the effects of the anaesthetic...I've not seen her scar or stitches . . When I put her back home she wobbled to a house and is dreaming
0.02ml that's so little. Phew well done. XGood that Florence is now back home and sleeping of the effects of the anaesthetic.
After Betsy had her spay, she was high as a kite and looked well spaced out. When I syringe fed her her evening feed she would only take 0.2ml at a time and only took 5ml at 10pm. I got up at 3am to syringe feed herand she took it at 0.5ml intervals and only 5ml again. After the anaesthetic had worn off it was full on speed feed syringing! So expect Florence only to take a small amount of food first of all. You could also see if she will eat some dampened pellets in the cage. Once she has slept it off I'm sure Florence will bounce back and be her normal self again.
0.2ml Dave you read it wrong. I'll let you off you've had a stressful day.0.02ml that's so little. Phew well done. X
If shes eating a little do I still syringe feed her. I know have to meds.
