Phoebe - I am not happy

Oh no, I’m so sorry I missed this thread. Sorry to hear Phoebe has been poorly. We are all so happy to hear she’s on the mend 💕 hope all goes well at the vet appointment 🤞🏻

All the best at the vets Phoebe. No biting or spraying…be a good girl for slave.

Good luck at the vet today beautiful Phoebe! 😘 Will be thinking of you and your lovely slave today and hoping for good news! x

Phoebe was a very good girl according to the vet today.
There’s still something going on that’s pushing her eye but the vet was happy with the weight gain and brighter attitude. The eye is better than it was last week.
As Phoebe is responding to the antibiotics and painkiller she’s on them for another week and back to the vet next Thursday.

In the meantime the vet wants to send the x-rays and notes to Birch Heath, an exotic specialist near Tarporley for a second opinion.
I said I would be happy if they wanted to refer Phoebe, I can take her easily.
We also discussed Zithromax which may be an option depending on the results of the consultation with Birch Heath.
I am very impressed and happy with my vets.

The icing on the cake today was no charge :yahoo:

So glad to hear Phoebe is doing well, a worry there is still something going on there but paws crossed some more xrays and a referral will give some answers and a treatment plan longer term.
But we all know piggies live for happy todays, so I hope gorgeous Phoebe got extra treats and lots of love from her friends after the vet? But not too much love Micah, moderation in all things! :) x

Aw good news, hope your specialist consultation goes well and you find out what the problem is x

Glad Phoebe is doing better. ❤

We've been to Birch Heath a few times in the past. I can really highly recommend them. The vets are brilliant there. Definitely guinea pig savy. Although take notice that it's quite expensive there, them being exotics, so always ask first for a quotation for the procedure needed so you can decide beforehand whether you would opt to do it there or somewhere else. They do understand it though if you would opt for another vets.

Good news Phoebe. Keep on improving. Good luck at your next appointment.

A good end to the year.
My lovely vet phoned late this afternoon to say that Birch Heath Vets had already assessed the notes and x-rays they sent yesterday.
Their view is that the most likely issue is a retrobulbular abscess.
We continue with the Enrobactin and Loxicom for another week and then she gets another check.
If this regime works we will either stop because all is well or continue until the infection is cleared. This may mean a switch to Zithromax.
Worst case scenario is enucleation, but that is a lot better than an inoperable mass.
The outlook for Phoebe seems so much better than it did last week.
I am happy and relieved- the vet fund is looking very sad.

Being able to talk here has been a real blessing this week. Thank you all.

Glad to hear it. I hope things continue to improve!

Sending lots of hugs to you and Phoebe, so glad you know what’s going on now. Hopefully these meds will kick it’s butt! 🤞x
Happy new year to you all too! :)

Phoebe continues to do well.
Her eye is much better and the vet is pleased with the effectiveness of the antibiotics.
Her weight is holding steady.
We are to continue with Enrobactin and Loxicom for another 2 weeks, then Phoebe will have another x-ray to see what’s going on and how things are progressing.
She is going to be so excited by the ongoing medication and daily weighing!

So pleased beautiful Phoebe is still doing so well, I think of her every morning and hope she’s ok (I know, I’m a stalker but I can’t help it! :)))!
Hope you’re both not too fed up with these endless grotty meds though!

Surprise call from the vet this evening to say they had overcharged me this afternoon.
They had got themselves a bit confused!
I’m in credit :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

It will offset the next bill as I decided to take the credit rather than a refund.
Now I can justify the new corner tunnel and the new tunnel and the new snuggle pouch :D
