Oh Jess, not again! ☹️🙈

I won’t tell the others :) but I’m sure Jess is going to be spoilt a lot xx
Haha think they already know, she’s been snuck out for extra special stuff since they both moved in! :)) xx

Wondering whether I should go easy on anything food-wise if she does have the kidney issues? The more I think about it, over the last few months there’s the odd few days where she’s particularly fussy about certain things, normally loves coriander, won’t go near it, even pepper at times and other bits and bobs.
But she hates anything strong-smelling and it depends on the shop you get it at times (just thought fussy piggy like they are!), wondering if it’s been the kidney issues really. Bless her, well she knows what she likes and can tolerate I guess 🤷‍♀️

Given the prognosis, I would just feed her what she wants to eat. It sounds like she tells you what she does and doesn’t like anyway xx

Yeah that’s kind of what I thought, she knows really! Last night she had a bit of dried piggie parcels apple after I got her nails, had a little bit, not fussed on the rest which isn’t like her with sweet stuff! But she knows her little body better than me I suppose!
She’s still tucking in well though, 780g today so more than last week’s weigh in despite being poorly! xx

Nettles are supposed to be good for kidneys and bladder if you want to pick some and dry them. Just a thought, they do go down well with rabbits and pigs

So sorry to hear about Jess. Hope she feels a bit better on her meds. Sending you and Jess massive hugs. Hoping she has many happy days ahead.xx

Ooh yes, might get some of those with her grass tomoz and see if she fancies a few dried. Who knows with her though! Sure Luigi will scoff them if not! Cheers mate

Thanks a lot @rhymer, me too! Thanks for the hugs, need them today! (She says sat on her todd having a cider to drown the sorrows!) Hopefully lots more time with my lady yet, was just saying to my lovely friend it’s the word palliative that got me a bit I think! But could mean days, weeks, months?! So hopefully all of those! xx

Oh good, glad you think so too! She can blooming stuff her face with whatever she pleases then (within reason!) :)) :))

Just need to tell that little silver fox beast to stop trying the hump thing, had that a couple of times since back now! Doesn’t normally with her (obviously been alone with the girls at the vets so a bit excited we’re all back!), but better not anymore after this spine diagnosis now or he’s going on the naughty step! :gd:

Just got back and caught up on Jess @alpacasqueak I’m so sorry it was not quite the diagnosis you were hoping for but you now know what’s wrong with Jess and you can give her lots of cuddles and attention. I’m sure once she’s on Metacam and antibiotics she’ll feel so much better. She’s obviously been in pain bless her, so brave, give her a big hug from me x

Thanks so much, I feel terrible I didn’t go there last time but as everything cleared up before and she’s had no issues I didn’t think much of these little things! She’s nearly 7 and a half and still does the odd wonky popcorn and lots of zoomies!
But hopefully now with long term metacam she’ll do even more bless her! Well can do whatever she wants really, and that was before today as we know!:)) x

Sending you hugs. I'm so sorry it's not better news. What an amazing life she's had with you though, wishing Jess many more happy days to come.
I'd just feed her what she wants as well. Xx

Sorry the news wasn't better today. I'm sure you will make every day special for Jess and i hope there are many of them. ❤

Big hugs from me and the piggies.xx

I always get Bristro salad for Ted when his teeth play up, it kept him going once after a poor dental for 5 weeks, loved the beetroot in it.

How are you and Jess today?
Sorry everything caught up with me so lost half of yest with my wonky brain🤕First fit in ages, been sticking to partials, so a bit annoying!
But we’re doing ok though thanks @Merab's Slave :) She’s a bit sleepier than normal and off a lot of her veg but doing well thanks, not seen much blood which is great too. They’ll be coming out for playtime and a cage clean soon so she can have a little plod around :)
Hope you’re ok xx

Thanks for everyone’s support with Jess, it’s really meant the world to me ❤️

We’ve not had much blood for a couple of days thankfully, obviously she’s very sleepy, even more than usual which has been a worry but today’s a particularly bad day for her. I found some poo which had a ‘bloody coating’ (don’t know how else to describe it) in her bed this morning, none on her or anywhere else. She’s had her pellets and veg (well the greens, off pepper and coriander etc) but not had much hay.

I’ve never dealt with kidney issues in pigs of course so all new to me, she’s an amazing little girl with an amazing pain threshold so I don’t know if I’m being mean thinking of syringe feeding her soon, am I just prolonging her suffering? She’s happy out munching for a little while then sleeps solidly for three hours so she’s not herself but not seeming hugely in pain. Obviously could be hiding it but she’s on metacam.
She’s such an oldie I’m just getting myself worked up a bit I think, she does sleep a lot but I can’t handle the thought I’m making her more unhappy. Hates me atm with her meds and hiding from me when it’s time, I don’t want to hurt her forcing food into her but also this could just be her fighting off the infection and needs the help.
She’s been on the sulfatrim and metacam since Monday, know kidneys are a nightmare so I’m not sure if I need to give her more time. Aaaargh, she’s such a worry atm!
Thanks for any help, a bit alone here not knowing what to do for the best :( x
