Merab's Herd

Look mummy - I’m helping you. I took the hay out of the hay bag for you.

Micah - that was fresh hay. I’ve just cleaned that part of your cage.

It’s hard work having the cage cleaned and being mauled by the slave.

( piggies health checked - all is fine ! )

Having lost Naomi so unexpectedly and knowing that with retirement looming we
want (? ) to end the piggy cycle after we lose Micah & Ruth I started browsing through old photos and creating my own Rainbow Parade album.
It’s lovely to remember each piggy, their own unique characters and the joy they brought.

I thought I would share some of the pics here. First - the piggies of childhood.

Titus. He and his identical brother, Philemon, were my first piggies as an adult.

Tamar and her daughter Merab came when Philemon had to be pts due to a brain tumour.
Tamar died very suddenly one evening leaving Merab and Titus.

Following Titus’ death Keziah and Jemimah came and a small herd was born.

What gorgeous piggies you have had in your life.
It's lovely to look back at piggy photos sometimes, they bring back so many memories.

That’s so lovely to see your beloved piggies
They leave little paw prints on our hearts and wonderful memories ❤️
Thank you for sharing your piggy journey 🥰

If Titus and Philemon were identical, how do you know that the one in your pigture is Titus, not Philemon? 😉

We really like this new hay - it’s very yummy.
( Ings hay from the Hay & Straw company)

Look mummy - I squeezed Ruth out of the tunnel 😊

I went to see what all the noise was to find Ruth expressing her displeasure at Micah sitting on top of the tunnel she was napping in !

Veggie time - this brought them both out of their hay piles.
It’s been fun today watching the hay piles moving around the cage.
They love the new hay.

Micah has been off his painkillers for a couple of weeks now and is fine. Vet was happy that he’s gaining weight again. It was probably a pulled muscle or a sprain cause by his over enthusiasm with Ruth.
I’m relieved it’s not arthritis
We decided he’s also the reason she has an occasional squinty eye - he’s an inveterate eye licker.
