Merab's Herd

Naomi is off to the vet tomorrow morning to have her tummy lump dealt with.
It’s grown to an uncomfortable size.
Ruth is going too, as paw holder while Micah stays to help me clean the cage.
Everything is ready for post-op care and I have decided it’s almost time for me to start feeling anxious.
I have an excellent vet, very experienced with piggies so she will be in the best hands.

Fortunately I have a lot to keep me busy tomorrow but I will be glad when she’s safely home.

The surgery went well, Ruth was there to keep her company.
Micah hasn’t been very happy all by himself but was very excited when the girls came home.

Naomi took some syringe food before going back in the cage and I will offer more later.
She also has soft poops !
So we’re off veggies and on Fibreplex for a while.

It’s going to be fun - 2 piggies on Rheumocam twice a day.
Ruth is going to feel left out.
 
In total shock.
Went to give Naomi her syringe feed yesterday evening to discover she had passed away.
I’m guessing the stress of the day was too much for her heart and she slipped away peacefully.
She died at home, with Micah and Ruth, a good ending.
When I get over feeling totally gutted I will post a proper tribute.

Oh no! I am so very sorry Heather. I missed your thread and just seen this awfully sad news :hug: You gave her the best life and she will have known just how much you cared and loved her x

Oh I'm so sorry to read this, what a shock for you 😢 I suppose it was much better than her slipping away during the actual surgery. She was home and safe and loved for her final hours, and has had a wonderful time with you and the other piggies. Sending you lots of sympathy.

Ruth and Micah are fine, still quiet and slightly lost without their boss pig but they will adjust.

It’s lovely to have @Viennese Furbabies staying for the weekend so plenty of fun to be had as well as a friend who understands how losing a piggy feels.

Hope you have a lovely time together. It definitely helps to have people around who understand when you've lost a piggy 💞

Yes - it’s Leasowe lighthouse, now redundant.
It’s on the Wirral Coastal path.
 
Dear Forum Friends,
We have had a nice day today. Our slave had some forum friends here and we had a new carrot cottage and a new hay cube to play with and some fresh coriander to eat.
Slave said we can’t have the carrot cottage yet as we’re only just starting to destroy a new one. We have both worked very hard on it so we can have our new one.
Aunty @Viennese Furbabies is staying and she brought us beautiful new tunnels.
We were very sad on Friday when Naomi died.
We miss her because she always told us what to do.
We feel better today because we have some nice presents to look forward to and Ruth found her voice again. I have been doing my best rumbles for her.
