Little Frida is doing well. At that rate she won’t be little for long :luv:

Dear Priscilla

It has come to me via Frida (@PigglePuggle) that you only had a sliver of apple for putting on weight which is completely outrageous!

You have been through a lot recently. You have been thrown in with your neighbours, expected to like them and share your husboar with these interlopers. Then you were taken to the nasty vet man because you were losing weight. Well no wonder you were losing weight, your nose was put well and truly out of joint and you felt sorry for yourself and moody because of the sudden change of circumstances you found yourself in meant you didn't want to eat. I think any self respecting piggy in your situation would do exactly the same. You did get CC though so that is some compensation. You should have been rewarded with more than a sliver of apple though for putting on weight. Doesn't your simple minded Slave realise that it is difficult for us piggies to put on weight?

I understand that you have now accepted and been accepted by Ruth and Naomi and you are now one big happy family. You are all to be congratulated for deciding that you all like each other. You have to show your Slave that you need lots more apple. Apple is very yummy and you need to have more of it. All 4 of you must have a Secret Meeting and decide on the best plan of action. You should Chair it and Micah needs to explain to Ruth and Naomi how to train your Slave.

I have looked in the Leaflet "How to Get More Yummy Stuff out of your Slave" and Page 14, Paragraph 3, Subsection 5.4d explains that Slaves need to be told in no uncertain terms that Yummy Stuff is good for you. What you will all have to practice very hard is your "I'm starving and nobody has fed me in eleventy billion years" face and convince your Slave that you have to have Yummy Stuff by standing on your hind legs at the bars whenever anyone walks past your room wheeking as loudly as you can. You need to persist in this as Slaves are very stupid and she will eventually get the message.

Yours hoping more Yummy Stuff is not too far away.....

Dear One and Only Thea,
I have been following your slave training advice and have to report some success.
Yesterday and this morning I was very upset because there was no mashed banana in my critical care so I wriggled a lot to make life difficult for my slave. I also used her top to wipe my mouth.
I even, very bravely, tried a gentle nip.
Tessy at GPFANS would be proud of me (@Viennese Furbabies )
There are now bananas 🍌 🎉

I hope Billie’s paw gets better. My slave is worried about me too.

I'm so pleased that my advice is working and you kept on at your Slave until she realised what you wanted (Slaves can be a bit dim at times). Keep up the good work and show Ruth and Naomi how it's done!

Priscilla’s weight is holding steady which is good.
We’ve decided to do a proper dental exam and while she’s out the vet wants to rule out bladder stones and also take some bloods.
I am going to ask for a nail trim at the same time ( for Priscilla, not me ).

I really hope we can get to the bottom of what’s wrong, especially as we’re going away at the end of the month.

She’s a bit brighter, she’s eating more and fighting the syringe, even with extra banana.

She’s happy with Ruth but still wary of Naomi which is a shame because Naomi is offering friendship. Maybe she hasn’t been forgiven for pulling Priscilla’s fur out!
That’s a bit like the pot calling the kettle black as Priscilla pulled Jemimah’s fur out when they were bonding.

That’s my hope too.
If we can rule out any health problems I will know it’s just Priscilla being Priscilla and if there is an underlying health issue it can be dealt with.
Either way it’s money well spent.

Priscilla and Jemimah tussled, nipped, chased, pulled fur for a while and then became the best of friends. I hope that she and Naomi will settle into friendship too
 
Priscilla is off to the vet tomorrow.
Micah is going too as company for her.
Hoping the x-rays will show something simple that is easily dealt with.
The vet has been taken over by a big company who have seriously hiked the prices.
Tomorrow will almost completely deplete my vet fund 🙁
There may not be pea flakes for a while!
 
Good luck for tomorrow, I too hope it's something easily dealt with.
Our vets was taken over a few years ago by a new company, the prices have gone up and up.
 
Hope they can get to the bottom of it and it’s easy and simple 🤞
 
Update.
Priscilla is home and currently looks like she’s recovering from a night on the tiles!

She’s a bit wobbly and woozy but recovering well.
She had a minor dental which was, hopefully, the cause.
No bladder stones , however there is a shadow in her abdomen.
The vet has sent the x-ray to Birch Heath so an exotic specialist can look at it.
Blood test results will be back early next week.

She slowly scoffed some grated carrot and took 10 ml of CC before I put her back in the cage.
She was promptly greeted by Ruth and Naomi which was lovely to see.

Now it’s the wait for results 🫤
 
Evening meds done.
She loves her Loxicom.
She didn’t want CC and only took 3ml tonight.
Ate more grated carrot with oats and shredded lettuce.
Back in the cage she’s tucking into hay, Micah is keeping a watch over her.
Naomi claimed the dish of leftover carrot & lettuce as hers and no other pig was going to share!
Micah and Ruth shared what was left in the syringe.
All seems well at present
 
Hopefully she will slowly be back to herself soon. I don’t envy you the wait but hope and pray they come back okay.
 
Oh no, not the wait. Hope it passes fast and it’s nothing to worry about.
Hope she recovers fast from the anaesthetic and hope the dental solves things.
