The vet we go to glues the outer layer, we've never had an operation site chewed so I think it's less tempting. Don't think Nugget could reach his right round the back though. I hope she heals up quickly, it's such a worry when they are healing or ill.

We've never had these type of stitches before but the vet did explain it was because the wound was hard to close and may have popped open without the tubes forcing it together 😬
With the tubes, only an hour before she chewed them off 🙈😂IMG_20220124_192102~2.webp

Thabkyou 💖 Haha, they were being removed during her recheck so she'll not avoid the vet trip 🙈 I'm hoping she will get the all clear tomorrow she really does seem much better bless her 💖

Marshmallow got the all clear at her checkup, eyes are healed too! 😅 She's to finish the baytril bottle to make sure we've hit any lingering infection hard and has an appointment with my exotic vet on the 5th February to discuss hormones and possible ovariectomy xx

Ugh! Just when I thought we were OK! Looks like I'm calling the vets first thing as little lady has opened her wound 🤦‍♀️ I've given her metacam and it isn't currently bleeding but I'm a bit worried about the yellow incase it's fresh infection as she's finished the antibiotics now 🤦‍♀️

Thankyou 💖 it does! Thankfully she doesn't seem bothered, I picked her up for a nightly check after finally getting the small humans to sleep 😴 as it's her first day off all meds and this is what I find :mal:
 
Hopefully you can get her to the vet tomorrow for some advise.
Nugget doesn't finish his meds until Tuesday, he's healing well but we had the advantage he can't reach the wound. I'm hoping to try bonding him and Rusty again next week. Nugget went for Rusty, I think maybe he thought Rusty was going to try to mount him when his back was sore and swollen. Rusty's not a dominant piggie, he never has tried to mount Nugget but I guess he wasn't taking the chance!

Good luck nugget! Glad he's healing well! I can't sleep now because I'm worried about her! I hope the vet will see her, she literally finished baytril this morning 🤦‍♀️ do you think it's likely to be infection with the yellow? Or am I worrying for nothing 🙈 She's still very rumble strutty we will never get to spay her if we can't deal with this first 🙄
 
I am absolutely not an expert on anything medical but as there's unlikely to be anyone around and you need to sleep I will give you my thoughts. I think it's healing okay from the inside out which is what you want. I do think it's a good idea for the vet to check it to if only put your mind at rest. Once it dries out and scabs it will look more normal, that is going to take time with her nibbling it. The vet maybe able to suggest something to stop her getting at it. Also healing skin itches which will make her want to worry it, they may suggest something to soothe it.
I hope you can get some sleep and stop worrying. You are a fantastic Mum to your children and pets, they need you rested!
