Lump

That definitely looks much smaller. Sending good vibes for tomorrow’s surgery.

Got her home and had an epic battle to get a minute 5ml of syringe food down her 🤦‍♀️ she's very out of it and her eyes look really weird! They had to remove some muscle as there was rivelets of infection going into her body bless her! It may come back 😩 My car broke down in the vets carpark so we were stuck there for over an hour which doesnt help as I now don't have a form of transport overnight 😩 I just hope she wakes up a little and starts eating!

Sending you both hugs, sorry about your car, talk about making a stressful time worse. I hope she comes round some more soon. It does take sometime for them to come round fully. I did manage to get him to eat 15mls about 10pm but he was still a bit out of it, his op started around 2pm I think.

Thankyou 💖 I do think it depends on the piggy too! Fluffy was a nightmare after her spay but all my other piggy ops until now they've been fine and dandy from pickup onwards 🙈 hope nugget is doing well today! 💖

Yes you are quite right, it does depend on the piggy. Peanut reacted badly to the meds twice and was a nightmare for a while. Rusty reacted badly and was kept in the vets for 2 nights. Other piggies other times have behaved as if nothing had happened.
Nugget is on the rampage today, storming up and down the cage. Mr. Angry is teeth chattering at me everytime I look at him and poor Rusty is hiding in the hay tray a lot today. Nugget is still happy to see me if foods involved though!
I hope your girl gets well very soon.

Oh bless. That is a big operation site she’s got there. Hopefully with plenty of pain relief and your top up syringe feeds she will start to feel better soon.

Poor little love! She looks a bit beaten up doesn’t she. I think the weird eye thing is the anaesthetic, I remember Ted’s eyes looked a bit odd after his first GA dental. Hope she recovers really quickly x
Sending you big hugs, it sounds like you have had one hell of a stressful day

I am so pleased he is doing well today 💖💖

Thankyou I hope so too! The vet actually said she wouldve liked to remove more in an ideal world but she was struggling to get the skin to close so had to leave it at that (which should be absolutely perfect but the infection could unfortunately come back) she's back on Tuesday for a post op and the external tube stitch things removing 💖

Thankyou i hope it's the anesthetic and not a double hay poke 💖💖

Oh gosh I hope not, don’t they cover their eyes while under the anaesthetic? Or use tear drops
I have no idea! I'm particularly worried about this eye, though both are sore I think this one's clouding over 😭 I'm going to have to juggle a pram and a pet carrier on public transport tomorrow I think 🤦‍♀️

That eye does look sore. I am sorry you are having such a hard time with it all, these things all seem to happen at once. I had an itemised bill for Nugget and eye gel was on it. Peanut got a hay poke in the carrier coming home from the vets once we had to make a return journey.

Thankyou 💖 I think the eye has an ulcer so she's going to need to see a vet as soon as really, no clue how I'm going to manage that but I'm sure going to try, I've finally got her chewing better but she's still a little (I don't really know how to desribe it- twitchy/spasmy?) I just hope I can get her eye sorted now!

Best go iron the school uniform and put a wash load on, yes I know it's 2:20am and I've not been to sleep but there's no real point in sleeping now ill just have to muddle through, she's on 2 hourly feeds until she either takes more in a session or starts eating independently 😩😬 the things we do for them! I can't believe the eye situation- I could cry! 😢

Oh, @Emx93 I am so sorry for all the troubles you and your piggy are going through. Lay down and try to take a brief nap; I know it is hard but you need to look after yourself too. I will say a prayer for you and your piggy.

Poor girl, her eye does look sore :( Sorry for the hard time you are having. I hope you can get her to the vets ok and that you have managed a nap or at least a rest. As above, you need to look after yourself too x

Thankyou both 💖 I'm late for syringe feeding as had to sort children but I'll be calling the vets as soon as they open at 9 and begging for an appointment 😬 I managed a 2 hour nap 😌

OK so...
She has ulcered both eyes
She's very quiet and out of it, she's chewing so slowly just getting a metacam dose in her is taking a long time
But she's had a buprecare injection
Can have up to 1ml dog metacam twice a day
Has 2 lots of eye drops- chloramphenicol and remand
Fibreplex
Cisapride
Baytril
Alternating emeraid and science selective but only managing 5ml on average and that's taking half an hour + to get in as she just isn't chewing correctly 😩
They offered to keep her for the day but as the car was going straight in the garage and I had noone to pick her up and they close at 6 I've had to opt for home syringe feeding 😬 oh has taken toddler to garage so I can focus on her.
What a nightmare!

I'm glad to hear that you were able to get her in and to the vet. Thank you car for starting! Hopefully she will get back on to her paws quickly. And hoping the car repair isn't too pricey!

Glad you could get to the vet so quickly.
Hopefully the meds will work and she’ll eat better when she’s feeling better.
Hope the car isn’t going to set you back too much.
It all comes at once sometimes!
