Jaw lump

That looks like its a real ouchy. My lovey late Gran would say OUCH WOUCH NOUCH when something really hurt that is definitely an OUCH WOUCH NOUCH! Poor Mal hope it gets better very soon.

Definitely ouch - that looks really sore! What does the vet say? :(

It did not look like that earlier! We have actually been to the vets today too with nugget for another cartrophen injection as the flare did not stay calmed down for long and she lost 50g in 24h (it is usual during a flare that she looses), mal is back on Friday but we did speak about her- earlier it was dry and reduced in size so we thought all was going well until i picked her up for evening meds and saw it like this 😮‍💨 Nightmare 😑

Well just as little lady seemed to improve we have a 100g weight loss and she can't eat by herself, she tries but can't seem to 😪 I'm going to have to make a bank holiday vet appointment! She is thankfully taking syringe feed from a spoon and a syringe but tried to bite her new carrot cottage/hay/pellets/anything and it doesn't seem to be working 🤨 I'm getting worried now this is the first time shes had problems eating she was fine yesterday, she has a post op with a nurse first thing Tuesday but I do not want to wait that long! My plan is Syringe feed overnight tonight, she's had cisapride as we had that on hand on a just incase needed basis for post op, paracetamol and metacam and will call for an appointment first thing! Even if there's no piggy savvy vets in or we have to make a trek to the emergency vets any vet will do I think at this point i am starting to become concerned! She is not her happy self at all 😔😪

BIG HUGS

I am so so sorry. Why do these thing always have to happen during weekends and holidays? Keep on feeding soft foods like grass, lettuce cut into strips and recovery mix to compensate especially for the not eaten bulk intake of hay. It is a good sign that she is still willing to eat but obviously cannot chew or is finding it too painful.

Fingers very firmly crossed.

Thinking of you and Mal :hug:Hope she gets back to eating soon, hang 8n there x

bless her heart!😢 sending her healing vibes, i’ve got my fingers crossed for the both of you❤️

She's currently on metacam (dog) 1ml twice a day, paracetamol 0.2ml twice a day and I added the cisapride today 💗

Back from the vets, it'd gone necrotic and a lump of necrotic flesh has come away with some gentle pulling from the vet, definitely infected too and smells bad! She now has a hole in her jaw which I need to flush, both cisapride and emeprid, metacam and paracetamol, baytril but also a swab has been sent off to check we are on the right antibiotic as the smell is something else now the lump of flesh has come away. Very worried piggy parent but she is looking slightly brighter after all the meds 💪 come on mal 💖🥺 thankfully her teeth are miraculously still normal!

:vom: Poor Mal! I hope she feels better soon now that the horrible stuff is gone. Well done you for noticing and getting her to the vets quickly.

Sending healing vibes and hugs 💓

Oh poor you and poor Mal, what an awful thing? that’s been. Hopefully now the vet has got it away she may start to heal now 🤞Sending you hugs, you care so much for all your little ones, it’s really so unfair x

Thankyou so much the hugs are very appreciated 💗 i did an all nighter with her and had done a 12h night shift Saturday night so hitting exhaustion point but did my first solo flush and she was so well behaved, took her syringe feed at the same time (15mls!) And attempted to bite her new hay cube when I popped her back 😍🤩 I was so proud of her I cried 🤣 shes such a strong little piggy 💪 getting all emotional 👀😅

Hang in there, you are doing a great job! mall’s such a good girl and a little fighter x

Sending you and Mall massive hugs.
I'm amazed at how much you do for your animals when you have children and a job. Looking after sick animals is exhausting.
