Hello I own 2 boy piggies. One named Baymax (5months old) and another one named Erwin (3 and a half weeks old).

Hi and welcome, you appear to have two accounts with this one and Mickey the lonely piggy. The forum rules only allow for one account so please let me know which one you would like to delete

You forgot your password in 6 minutes!? That must be a record...and what’s happened to the sows? You say you have sows on your other thread. Do you not have them? And you say baby boar guinea pigs yet only have two?

Can you post photos of your setup please?

The other one since I forgot the password

You logged on with your other account within 10 mins of creating this one! You wouldn't be trying to hide your intention to breed would you? Your other account can be deleted however the posts made will still remain and will be visible to all. Can I ask why you made a new account instead of resetting your password?

Intentions of breeding? I’m giving away my sows if I wanted to breed I wouldn’t be giving them away. Anyways your guinea pigs are from breeding so what’s so bad about it?

Could you answer my question above please? Can we have a picture of your setup? And how come you didn’t mention the fact you have sows as well? You only mentioned your boars.

The piggies a lot of us have are rescues needing to be rehomed as a result of unscrupulous backyard breeding.

And you have clearly said two boars originally. So what sexes are the three piggies in that cage - which by the way is far far too small for three piggies

My original guinea pig is free in my room. There are 1 boar and 2 sows in the cage.

So there are four piggies then, three in the cage and one free roaming.

how old is the boar In the cage with the sows?

You said in your original they’re 3.5 weeks old which is 22-25 days. The 14 days was not a week ago if I remember correctly. That was on your other thread.

You also said you separated them yet they’re still living together now. Did your scales arrive yet by the way?

My bad that was a typo but the piggies were born on the 11th of jan at night or morning I’m not sure I wasn’t there to witness it and no the scales haven’t arrived. I have borrowed a kitchen scale that doesn’t work when I put the piggies in a bowl and put it on the scale.

You did say in your other account that you had separated them but here they look very much together.....it’s getting rather confusing ....
I separated the daddy pig

They are separated from their dad

I don’t use kitchen scales here in australia so I ordered one online which will come in about 2-3 days hopefully. I’ve asked everyone I know and they only have scales for humans and the guinea pigs light weight wouldn’t show on it. They are about 13 days old. I have space to house them since I have another cage that is called guinea pig habitat and I have 3 of those. I have 2 connected hutches but they are not stacked on top. I’m working hard on getting them vet care and a check up I’m currently working 2 jobs.
The above was a post on Saturday 24th when you said they’re about 13 days old. Which is correct. But that’s quite a bad typo. Are you sure of the date they were born? You need to be precise with the dates, not just ‘around’.

When weighing you need to leave the bowl on the scales and make sure it’s tared (at zero). Then you place the piggy in and take that reading. Is it possible to go do that now?
Just to say, newspaper gets wet very quickly so I would use another type of bedding for the base of their cage.

the baby boar does not need to the separated from the older boar ever. You need to keep both the sows away from both the boars. That baby boar will need supervision and guidance from the older boar.
So you need two cages - one cage for the two boars to live in and another one for the two sows to live in. What you have done here is greatly risking further pregnancies.

The cage they are in now - is that the cage you will be keeping the two boars in?
I see in your other account you are rehoming the sows?

No the other boar will probably be free roamed too

Good. You need to now weigh them every day at the same time. I would suggest in the morning.

But what’s a healthy weight for them?

It’s individual to each piggy - there isn’t a healthy weight.
What you are looking for is that they gain weight each day and that the boar is separated from the sows before there is a risk of further pregnancies

Also I got the cage when the babies were born since I didn’t have a cage. I don’t have any other bedding and they will only be staying here for another 2 weeks. I wash the cage every 3 days.

Like humans, they can be different shapes and sizes. There is no 'healthy weight' as such. You just have to weigh them every day and see what their particular weight range is. At that age they should be putting on weight every week.

I have merged your 2 threads together since they relate to the same piggies and issues. It will make it easier for you to see what you have told us previously.

You have those pellet things in the corner thing where one of the piggies is sitting. Can you not use those? It's really not a good idea for them to be sitting /standing in their urine. Changing every 3 days isn't enough, it's likely soaked through.
