My Piggies
Adult Guinea Pig
So glad to hear Georgie is doing better, I hope he continues to improve
Glad Georgie is eating well and enjoying life, hopefully the vet can adjust his medicines a bit to get rid of the extra fluid. Always best to make sure things are as good as they can be before you go away, but it must be a worry all the same. Hugs and piggy kisses, hope all goes well at the vet and that you have a lovely holiday! XWe are back at the vets this afternoon. Georgie is eating well and is generally a happy piggy but seems to be retaining fluid in his body again. I'm hoping he just needs his meds adjusting. We go on holiday soon and i really want to make sure that he is comfortable and as well as he can be before we go away. It really is worrying me as we won't be in the UK and Georgie's health really is up and down at the moment. I have every faith in Paul who is looking after them while we are on holiday and i know that he will make the right decisions for Georgie if his health deteriorates but i would rather not have to leave him in the that difficult position.
My old fuzzypig Miss Mollie had heart trouble and she also had Fortekor added to her meds. She had several further good months with us after starting the Fortekor. I hope that Georgie still has many happy days ahead of him with his wives and his human slaves attending to him. Big hugs, Yvonne, it’s not what you wanted to hear, but at least there are treatments to help keep him comfy xxJust back from the vet. Georgie is retaining fluid again in his stomach which means that his current meds are not helping his heart enough. He is at the highest dose of Frusol and Vetmedin that can be given to a guinea pig. He now has a third medication Fortekor 0.3ml daily. Unfortunately, his heart is failing but we will make all his remaining days as happy as we can.
Thank you. It's particularly hard with us not being there with. Although, he was getting the best of care from Paul and Keith.Oh I’m so sorry for your loss. Sleep tight Georgie.
Yes I can imagine. But to go in his hay pile with food in his mouth is the best way for a piggy to go. He’s had the best care imaginable with you. Sending love to you, be kind to yourself xThank you.
