Flesh Eating infection? Would love comfort and advice.

She's looking very smelly and her bum is very brown today and sore. Would you guys recommend giving her a bum bath? I think it will help but I worry I'm just making it worse by doing so? She's been bathed so many times in the past month and I get scared thats whats adding to it.

I think you need to ask your vet, as it’s important they know how things are developing. I hope you start to see some improvement soon x

UPDATE TIME:
Yen yen is… getting better! As far as I can tell?

Her bum is totally healing over. Sorry it’s tmi but before I couldn’t even really tell what was what as it had become sooo swollen and flesh was literally hanging off! But after a week on antibiotics I’ve defo noticed it’s returning to normal colour and there’s been absolutely no blood. Hooray!

Shes been fine in herself, she is having the cream twice a day too which seems to have also helped. My only issue atm is, she’s constantly covered in pee and poo all over her body. I keep giving her little short cleans with wet cotton buds but I had to do the dreaded bath because she was absolutely soaked and stinks so bad.
Anyway she wasn’t even in it long where the water went from clear to this yellow! Isn’t that horrid 😭
Has anyone had anything like this before? I don’t know if the antibiotics are making her wee even more than before! It will be all over her back belly and legs 😢

But other than that she looks happier and is still eating and drinking, and the thing that made me happiest was her bum going back to a normal shape and healing ofc.

Thank u!

That’s brilliant news. Such a relief for you. She must be feeling a lot better.

Hello I’m back with another update.

Yen came off antibiotics on Monday but it seems to be looking strange again! No sign of blood, but her bum is becoming very yellow and filled with this sort of sandy substance. I have done a urine sample and attached it I’ve also sent it to my vet so I’m just waiting on results on what the next move should be.
She’s also still soaked in wee, I hoped this would stop but if anything it’s worse. It’s affecting her belly also as it’s soaked and it’s made it quite red and balding in some parts
I have more antibiotics so could do another round of that. Anyone got any ideas ? Thank you and sorry for being the most annoying person on this site lol!
I did two urine tests the second was defo better but thought I’d upload both to be sure!

I'm sorry you and your piggy are having such a difficult time. I hope the vet can come up with some answers for you.

it was 2 weeks x

do you think she should go back on them? She said try for two weeks and see how she goes and if not do three
Speak with your vet, but in my experience the stubborn infections need at least 4 to 6 weeks of antibiotics!

Oh wow okay wow I'm waiting for her to message me now. Is it okay to continue to take antibiotics after a break in your experience? I feel bad now I should have just kept them going

Back on antibiotics today! Theres blood in her wee so still signs of infection. She’ll be on them for another two weeks and then I’ll get a urine sample before taking her off them! Thank you again for everyone’s kind words, I do hope that if I update here I can help a future piggie! 🥺💗
