Feeding after dental

I really wish I could help! However, with Simon away, for the next 2 1/2 weeks and the current situation with the BVZS, I feel helpless! It frustrates me so much, that I can’t do what TEAS was set up for!

Alternate what you syringe feed, as they get bored. If he isn’t taking one particularly well, try something different. I mainly use mushed up nuggets and baby food. I also find most can manage porridge oats too! Experiment with different veggies too. Some can manage hard veg best, such as a broccoli stalk or a chunk of carrot. Others manage leafy foods better, cut into strips. Try things that he doesn’t normally eat, as sometimes they get a negative association with certain foods, that they used to enjoy before.

Thanks Debbie, that makes me feel a bit better to know Simon is away as I was feeling guilty that I didn’t just take him there.
We have just got him some burges mint nuggets as he loves mint so I will mush some of those up for him, we are rotating CC, burgees recovery + and emeraid, he is taking them a lot better Vs yesterday morning!

Thanks for the tips on veg at the moment it’s lettuce and coriander that his is favouring we are just about to raid the veg section on Morrisons so we will get a lot of variety to try and tempt him!

Tucking into dinner, he was tempted by some dried mint forage earlier as well! Still no hay or grass but we are going to pick him some fresh grass after dinner.
I’ve piled all the poops that he has done today in the cage and some are looking fairly normal, defiantly been some more output which is good!

Sending you hugs, what a rough time you and Pepper are having. I am pleased to hear he is eating a bit for himself now. It's so hard when they won't eat.

I’m sure cheeky Pepper will return. Keep munching gorgeous

Pepper was 1065g today Vs 950 yesterday!
He started to eat hay again at 9pm he got syringe fed at 11, &3:30 and has had veg and syringe this morning and gone back and started to eat hay again!
Let’s hope this continues, we are not going to syringe through the night tonight 11pm & 6am we will do and then throughout the day

Pepper is continuing to eat hay by himself, he came out and begged for veggies and did a mini dinosaur at the side of the cage which means we are starting to get old pepper back! Still not out if the woods yet but we have seen such great progress today.

So we have taken a few steps back, pepper seemed to slow down his hay intake from what day afternoon and was squeaky when pooping, on Thursday I stopped the guy stimulant so I can only assume this upset his tummy and he stopped eating, we are back to more regular top ups and I did have a little of the guy stimulant left so I’ve been giving him that again as well as fibre plex.

How long can they be on gut stimulant for ? I’m thinking I’ll need to ring the vets tomorrow for some more

I hope Pepper perks up again soon. Poor boy.

I’m sorry Pepper is still not eating enough for himself. Sending healing vibes ❤️
