Eddie doesn't quite seem himself

I’m so sorry I missed this thread... what a time you’re having @Eddie & Elvis ! I’m so pleased to hear his op went well and that your little pirate Eddie is recovering nicely! Thinking of you both and hope you manage to relax a little now the operation is done!

Aw thanks @Bradshaw Piggies 😊
Eddie's continuing to improve and his weight is steadily increasing (around 10g a day). He's fighting against meds and Emeraid now so clearly feeling much better 😂. I'll continue to offer Emeraid but he's doing great and must be eating more than I realise with all this weight he's gaining.

Back from the vets now.
Nathalie is very pleased with Eddie's progress she says there's no swelling around the wound and his gut sounds good too. Apart from his little bald bit (though it's getting fuzzy now :D ) and obviously having one less eye than before he looks like my Eddie again. He's back to looking happy and has started eating some more hay today. It seems Eddie has high standards when it comes to hay, I had to buy some pet shop hay while I waited for my Haybox order to ship and he hasn't really been interested in hay until the new hay has arrived earlier and decided he will eat hay after all! Fussy boy! 😂

I'm continuing with the Baytril for another week, loxicom for another 3-4 days, and gut stimulant until his poos seem fine again. His poos are a bit all over the place at the moment so I'll definitely be continuing with that for a while.

He's got another appointment booked for a months time to get Eddie's teeth checked and filed down again if needed. At this stage Nathalie has no idea how frequently he'll need his teeth doing so we have to play it by ear for the time being.

Glad Eddie’s check up went well and he’s doing so well after such a big op. What a good boy 🥰🥰

Aw what a clever boy you Eddie, well done! Glad the check up has gone so well x

So pleased he’s doing so brilliantly! :D:hug:
Hopefully now he’s tucking into more hay his poo might improve a bit, I’ve also given probiotics more often too if they have a bit of a dodgy tum (4 times a day rather than twice) as I’ve found that’s helpful. Or the good old ‘poo soup’!
So chuffed for you all that he’s doing so well :) x

I haven't had much to update on since Eddie's last vet trip. He's been munching his hay and gaining weight nicely (now at 950g; his normal weight is around 1050g) but today I noticed a bit of his stitches has come loose. I saw Elvis tugging on them the other day so I shooed him away and gave the wound a check over and it didn't look like this then so Elvis must have done it again while I wasn't looking. The wound itself looks nicely healed and hasn't been pulled apart at all by Elvis's tugging. Eddie doesn't seem bothered either.
Is it best just to leave it alone and monitor to make sure it doesn't start bothering him/ it gets worse?
Of course I'll take him back to the vets if necessary to but I don't want to stress Eddie out unnecessarily (plus it's almost 2hrs drive there and back).
