Eddie doesn't quite seem himself

Oh just seen this, I’m so sorry poor Eddie is facing surgery today, I’ll be thinking if you both. I hope he sails through the operation and makes a full recovery. Eddie will be fine with one eye from what I’ve seen of all the beasties like Pedro and Jess and some of the piggies at TEAS x

Thank you everyone 😊

I've been chatting with the lovely @alpacasqueak about her one eyed friends so I'm not as worried about that bit as I thought I'd be.
It's the uncertainty of whether Nathalie will be able to removed all of the molar that's causing all this. Even she won't know until she tries. I don't know what's going to happen if she can't as it will just keep causing problems. :(

try not to worry x Hopefully she will and Eddie will come through fine.
If she can’t then take him to see Simon at the Cat and Rabbit Clinic when he’s back off his break if you can

I've been keeping Cat and Rabbit in mind and I'll definitely look at going there for keeping Eddie's teeth smoothed down. They won't know everything that's happened to Eddie but that should be fine just to get his teeth filed. Much easier than having anaesthetic every time too.

@Eddie & Elvis
Sending you lots tlc from me and my piggies to you and the beautiful Eddie.
Been and is a long road you guys doing so well. . Seriously no better place for Eddie what you are doing.
As others have said and I will add. . Here to offer support help etc.
Come on little Eddie. and Elvis who is supporting. . .

Thank you, you're so kind

Sending lots of love. I agree, sometimes no news can be good news. Can you call up and speak to the reception team/vet nurses to see how he's recovering from surgery? I was on good terms with the vet nurses (probably because they tolerated me bugging them several times a day) when Odin was in hospital

:agr: I would give them a call too. They'll be used to anxious owners calling to check on their pets.

Eddie news!
The vet has not long finished with Eddie which is why I didn't get a call earlier. He's walking up and has already eaten a little which is great. His eye has been removed (Pirate Eddie is proud to carry the Pirate name in honour of @alpacasqueak 's Pirate Ped and Jess :) ) but it kept bleeding so Nathalie had to close it up pretty quickly meaning she couldn't access his tooth through there like she was planning. She tried to get to it through his actual mouth but she couldn't do it so she's smoothed it right down. Someone will call us back later with another update as he's only just come out of the op.

When they call I'll ask if she managed to clear out the puss like she was planning before she closed up the eye and if, because she couldn't remove the tooth, it will cause recurring problems, recurring infections or both.

It's not exactly the news I was expecting but I'm soo relieved! 😄😄😄

You can always get Eddie’s notes sent over from your vets

I’m so pleased he’s got through his op and he’s eaten! ❤ Sorry they couldn’t get his tooth out, definitely a good idea to get him to Cat and Rabbit with Simon’s amazing skills like Bill & Ted says, they’ll just be able to email his notes over :) Simon was amazing with Pedro, he had to go for regular dentals afterwards too. Massive hugs, bet you can’t wait to get him and Elvis home! Give Pirate Eddie a big hug from me! ❤ x

Hope the boys both had a good night at the vets and you get them home with you today :) x

Thank you! I'm going to bring them home at 1pm today :)

He's going to be on antibiotics so should I get a probiotic?
Aw so glad they’ll be home soon!
Yes probably worth grabbing one if he’s on the antibiotics. You can probably get fibreplex from the vet or p@h sell Pro-C which I tend to grab in a rush! x

Oh my. I had somehow missed what was going on and have only just had time to sit down and read your thread properly. What a time you have been having. And the forum has gained another Pirate Piggy. I hope that he continues to make a great recovery once he’s back home and in his own surroundings again.
