COVID-19 Coronavirus

Sam messaged me earlier to say his dad's in self isolation, not sure whether if due to symptoms or track and trace, he's a tradesman so in and out of people's houses, I hope he's OK though he has heart problems 😱
Your daughter is amazing @PigglePuggle
I wish I could say I did a thing, my thing has been trying to keep my family safe by locking us up at home but I think my kids may actually hate me for the fact that I've turned every play date and party down and they've only seen their family and friends from 6feet 🤦‍♀️😳
I think just doing your best to keep your family safe is doing an amazing thing @Emx93 it really isnt easy right now for parents especially to be the sensible one when other people are hell bent in taking silly risks x

Its not easy at all, especially when it's family asking or saying they social distance the adults not the kids etc 🤦‍♀️😳 they go to school that's already 30kids plus multiple staff members they are in close contact with per child, for me that's just more than enough risk for now 💖 they are pretty understanding thankfully 😊 they don't sleep and make a lot of mess but other than that I do have amazing kids, I got very lucky there 💖 xx

we all need to work together,Covid 19 is not going away fast.Lockdown will be ineffective if plans are not in place to deal with these cases.it will delay the spread for two weeks ,to only rise again when the breaks are lifted.without any exit stratiegy. This disease has awful symptoms,i do not wish it on anyone.i see the crisis of this disease first hand on a daily basis.I hope everyone stays safe and follows the rules,

Heh, I got pinged by the app this morning, although it then pinged me again to say I didn't need to self isolate right now.

id like to think we are doing everything right. South Yorkshire is just a mess right now :( xx
It is, I really don't like the school situation. I didn't have an easy time having kids- lots of complications so I don't like that I now have to just hand them over mid pandemic :(

I've turned contact tracing on just incase :) this pandemic needs to go away! Has anyone on here had covid yet? Is it as bad as they say on the news?

I know it can be a battery hog but the contact tracing is the most important part of the app, I feel. It's what triggered my ping earlier, and if I did need to isolate I'd never have known otherwise

My sister in the Philippines has Covid-19 for 2 weeks now. She got it from her workmate. Her symptoms are mild, no fever, occasional cough and the first symptom she had was loss of smell. Although she also has sinusitis and acid reflux so some of what she's feeling is associated to it too. She gained back her sense of smell. Overall she is fine. She is just worried when she gets another swab test. If she gets another positive result again, that would mean more quarantine time. I told her not to fret coz as long as her symptoms are mild and not getting worse, she just needs more recovery time.

I'm happy to hear her symptoms are mild 💖

Hmm... the uni just reviewed its face to face teaching policy after pressure from both staff and students... and have now changed the wording slightly- only "highly technical courses accredited by professional bodies with a key component of practical skills developed in specialist teaching spaces such as laboratories" will continue face to face teaching. So that's everyone who was teaching face to face is still teaching face to face, the only difference is that we are now highly technical. Then they gave us an extra 2 week's holiday after Christmas, labelled "preparation and extended marking time week" and "specialist technical teaching development week" on the calendar...
I think the government could learn a few shady political tricks from our bunch of spin doctors!

Sam's dad is covid positive 😵 😱 he has a lot of heart problems so we're worried. He's OK at the moment headache and exhaustion mainly, no cough yet 💖

Oh no! I hope it stays mild. ☹️ Does he live alone? Hugs for you both.

Okay good. So they’re all isolating now? All the best for him.
Yes I believe so, he was contacted by track and trace Tuesday so he's been isolating since then, got his results today ☹️ it was so close because Sam was due to go help him with something Wednesday morning 😱 hope he's better soon! Xx

Just to show how contagious this is- fil is a tradesman, he knows who he got it from, they were asymptomatic at the time, both wore masks, they broke 2m for a few seconds as necessary for the job 😳

That's how my sister got it from her colleague too. They are required to wear masks and face shields in the office, but there really was a time that they really can't avoid being near each other.

It's scary how contagious it is it really is 💖
We were all just hoping my sister's mild symptoms really won't turn for worse. She hasn't had another test again, probably will get it next week. But her colleague still tested positive on her newest test the other day.

I hope they stay mild for her 💖 fil says he's never felt so ill, he doesn't have a cough yet though and we're all hoping he doesn't get one 💖
