she was but to be fair. I took Cocoa for her lip problem and I held her most of the time as i wanted the vet to concertrate on takin samples etc. Whatever the lump is it's very small but we will watch it. x

I'm sure they are nothing to worry about. Betsy has had a couple of lumps for over a year now and they have never grown any bigger and they don't bother her. The vet says thery are nothing to worry about. They are not adhered to anything and move around quite freely. My gut feeling is to leave them alone. If they changed in any way I would have them operated on.

Just a little update. We got up this morning with the beautiful Cocoa breathing bad again. her 3rd bout of URI. This piggie is having so many problems it's heart breaking to see her plod on. We had some Tim Hay and its CRAP smelt damp and dusty when it dryed out. we complained and the shop shelves were empty so I'm guessing they had more complaints.
I've totally removed the whole lot and the girls are now enjoying fresh crisp hay with Burgess special in. I've just taken this. 20180408_212713.webpShe's well asleep. Weight is good.
We now have a piggie with a poorly lip ( get results of three test hopefully tomorrow) breathin a bit bubbling this morning she's had bit baytril and we found a lump on her back.
I knew that hay was CRAP and I feel awful for puttin some in. I will never do that agin. I'm learning.
Cocoa is the bottom of the herd but top of our efforts to mend her. Bless Her. xx

Poor little Cocoa the little fighter seems to be having no end of trouble at the mo. Get well soon gorgeous one and stop worrying your slaves.

Hope Cocoa picks up soon poor little love.
We've found a great eating hay, alfalfa King hay, not cheap but there's no dust, about £9 for 1.8kg.
I know your hay won't have caused Cocoa's URI, but I wonder whether it's exacerbated it.

I hate to be the one to spoil the party, but in my head alfalfa hay isn't recommended for general consumption for guinea pigs. If I'm remembering right it has too much calcium. I'm sure it would have been in one of the guides - let me see if I can find it...

I think she means the brand Alfalfa King. A lot of people buy their Timothy hay.
