it should be Tim. Yes 100% but the very young vet was not experiance enough to hold a piggie and was clue less to do a fu...swab. I'm 7 months into piggies and i was tellin her. xx.
Cocoa is my world and she will not suffer but her illness is my problem and i will fix her.

Oh :( Perhaps the swab wasn’t don’t correctly? Fingers crossed with the vets in Darwen. I know Darwen, just off the motorway. I’ve been to a blues club there.
 
Hello. I got the sad look of Cocoa this morning . . she seems to know that a vet visit is on tonight. 20180402_153216.webpI'm determined to get this sorted.
We have options but I'm tryin local before takin her further afield.
Not the time or expense but she is very bad passenger. last time she buried under the hay and blanket and hid. We all know that's really sad to see.
On plus side her weight is good steady and eatin all put before her . . she a good piggie loves her cuddles.
So fingers crossed I will get answers tonight hopefully.
We not addressed the poor service off our normal vets yet but a call or visit to piggie lady will happen.

They’ve taken 3 swabs. One with a cotton bud, one by plucking out hairs from her top & bottom lip & one was a scrape with a scalpel... (ouch) (she squeeled)
They’re testing for bacterial or fungal. In the mean time we’ve been prescribed chlorhexidine glauconate to dilute & dab on. We expecting results in a week (next thurs).
Her weight, teeth& her chest are fine.
She was very brave (as I believe was @David Pet Lover when she squeeled)
She also pooped & weed infront of vet so they was good timing Cocoa, everything’s fine in that dept too :nod:
Well done Cocoa, the other 2 girls are so pleased you’re back. :wub:

Glad you have got something more to go on guys and hope the test results come back with something so you can get little Cocoa all sorted. I'm glad she is doing well otherwise, sending lots of hugs and kisses to you all xx

Ahh thanks @Flutterby. She’s now in a nice big snooze after her traumatic time.
If memory serves me right, good luck for the gorgeous handsome Digby tomorrow. I’ll be thinking of him and you at his vets too. :love:

20180330_122511.webp Thanks everyone for kind comments. I hope now we going to get some answers to why her lip is hairless and little scab at times. She's shows little pain but we need to know what it is to prevent others or it gettin worse.
It brought a tear to me when the vet. who is lovely had to take a sample from her lip by a bit scrapin the skin and gettin raw sample. Cocoa gave a noise that made lovin slaves say sorry babes i had hold of Cocoa and she wiggled and gave me a super wet weeeeeeee sample for being a bully.
She did not once during the whole visit and she was poked. things in mouth etc. samples taken show any aggression.

She then suggested could be ringworm which has floored me but she admits she guessing which does not fill me with confidence. I said AND PLS FRIENDS correct me if I'm wrong that ringworm irate and makes piggies scratch. Which Cocoa is not at all she's very normal. Vet has spoken to another vet and they suggesting try. F.10. which I've never heard off again guys pls if any of you have let me know. they will let me know when they get some as don't have any there at the moment.

I'm at a loss what to do for the best here. Cocoa has a poorly lip not their before but it is After 3 vet visits and cream. metacam baytril we here guessing.
I know no magic wand is around but hell.
I shall talk to Kath check the others for ringworm and one avenue is visit another vet pratice and get a 4th opinion.

I'd change your vet, I would have been furious by now.
Is they no exotic vets near you. Other I would be inclined to take him to Simon. I hope you get your answers soon.

I have changed vets. It's sad cos my old vet had a piggie savo vet but they have 12 pratices and strugglin to get her. We giving a new vet a chance. x

Monday or Tuesday. we got some Chiorhexidine Glucona to dab on her lip. But of course soon as we do she dashes off into a hidie and wipes it off. Straight Jacket required. :hb:. Of course I'm joking :lol!: they dont make um that small.
