Specialist Cocoa Poorly Lip And Congested. Pls Help. Photos

Vets have rung and the piggie lady vet will not be their. No reason given.
So what do I do.
Cocoa went vets wed and i really don't want to stress her out to see another vet who is not piggie one.
I have a opointment Monday with one who is treating her so I'm tempted to leave it till then. I finish work 4.30 if she's any worse to be honest she no worse and no better only two days into new meds. I will of course take her. The whole idea was to take her to see piggie vet lady.
Cocoa this am was great took her meds and ate her food as tho nothing up. Bless her. Last seen hay munching with her friends.
Oh my :hb: Piggies. x

That's not what you need David. It's not an easy decision, but if the whole point of taking her was to see the piggy vet, then I think I would be tempted to leave it until you can see her - as long as Cocoa is happy enough in herself, eating, pooping and taking her meds, that is.

Thanks. if I thought she was struggling she be at the vets. Just wanted piggie vet before she left. arrrr

I understand Dave, it's not nice when you don't know what is wrong with them. She is happy, eating and being herself though so let that ease your mind for now. You are both great piggy owners and are doing everything within your power to help her. If it is a fungal infection it will soon get cleared up with some Intrafungal from the vets. Huge hugs x

Thanks xx. She says helllllllloooooooo. x

Hang in there guys, they will get to the bottom of it. Main things is that Cocoa is still happily being herself and has the best piggy slaves to look after her! Sending good luck for the vets tomorrow xx :hug::hug:

Just caught up on this thread and may I just say what great piggy parents you both are @David Pet Lover @Hoppity.K . You've both been so attentive and I'm sure Cocoa is touched to have two loving owners worried about her. I must mimick the others when I say I've never seen anything like that before (though with only owning 3 pigs I'm not exactly the most experienced lol.) It does look like it could be a bacterial infection or something but I'm sure the more piggy savvy vet will clarify further. At least she's still eating and being active -that's always a promising sign. Cocoa has best wishes from both me and my two boys (who both say you still look like a very pretty piggy despite the swollen lip) x

Many Thanks all.
It's unfortunally not the vet we want as she is away at the moment. I was tryin to get her before she went away But it's now clear to me its not a trauma as it should by now been sorted and Cocoa had 10 days of meds. So we see what happens Monday night. Cocoa is great and you wouldn't know she has a poorly lip. As I text now she's in the biccys and crunching away. 1522010538255-956460650.webp 1522010586114-1021939056.webpBless Um. x

Nobody likes the vet! Especially Dennis who sympathises with you Cocoa. Dennis does NOT like the nasty vet man. He does however just about tolerate the nice vet lady Rachel.

Hello everyone.
Well I'm back and had a very emotional re_union with Heidi when i got home she was all lovely and kissy made sloppy daddy all teary.
Daddy was very cross at the vets whilst waiting for my opointment in came a stupid yappy puppy very very loud and was excited and it's owners wasn't bothered at all and the receptionist thought it was ok to make it Yap Yap more very loud I was scared very. So he got up and took me into a room after tellin them off. He was not happy.

Well me chest is clear so that's great news. My lip is a bit of a problem and the vet didn't really know what is up. She says my teeth are ok and just looks like a bold area. Cheeky woman I'm only 3. lol.
Well daddy asked her could it be fungal and she's taken a swab and we find out Wednesday if it is and what treatment to have. She took a photo to show one of her friends who's at vet college. Seems my lip is a puzzle.
I'm now home and with me loved ones. x

Glad you are home Cocoa and that your chest is better. Your lip is a real puzzle, hope it gets sorted very soon.
Well done on Daddy for getting you away from the noisy puppy, we have a quiet corner at our vets where dogs aren't allowed. I've been popping in and out of the forum all afternoon looking for news of you. I'm pleased to hear Heidi was nice to you when you got home. With love from piggieminder. X
